The Speed Dorsel Maneuver is a riding style popularized by Indiana moped enthusiasts in which the rider lays on his stomach and simultaneously creates a "fin" with his left hand on his back. This aerodynamic position is said to give an incalcuable increase in velocity and minimizes the wind resistance created by "the extra hand." Moped amatuers are not encouraged to launch into this position while riding without additional speed monitoring technology or the presence of a registered MRA member.

First witnessed in Kalamazoo during Moped BBQ 12 in the wee hours of the morning by Brad VandenBerg, Chris Debrizzio, and Nicholas Rouley
