NIKASIL is a brand name of the german manufacturer Mahle (Stuttgart). Nikasil is a nickel matrix with silicone-carbide particles found on the cylinder wall surface. Nikasil makes the surface extremely wear resistant and allows to have a full aluminium cylinder for better thermal properties.
