I started out with a rusty Jawa in High School (in the 80's - yep that old). Used to be a big roadbike fan then found the Jawa - became lazy and never looked back. Fixed/rode peds till I was old enough to drive .Drove a number of Datsun 510's for a while Found I could fix things myself by buying my own tools etc. Tried mt. biking didn't work ,still too lazy , same went for hiking and running . Real bad but my personal motto is "why walk further than your car" or "ped" Always had a garage full of mopeds and stuff .Started building kitcars - still do , currently building a Lotus Seven Replica. Would absolutely love to meet people in my area who share the moped bug and just want to cruise around. Just moved to Little Elm Texas from the California Bayarea. I do all my own welding , fabricating, machining ,maintenance and such. If anybody needs help or something welded email me . Currently my favorite peds are a bobbed General 5-Star and a chopped Tomos Silver Bullet (yes they were basket cases before cutting them) Took awhile to get the proportions right so they didn't look funny .Used to have the most awsome Pick'N'Pull in Hayward Ca. that had a motorcycle section . Used to pull the electronics ,tanks ,rims ,tires, fenders and forks from the small dirtbikes and convert the mopeds to 12Volts and my chopper/bobbers. The 80cc cylinders were interesting mods .Haven't found a yard here in Texas yet. Anyways looking forward to anybody in the area to hook up with.
