Great advice!! Thank you Cheetah and Pancake! When I get off work,I will be putting the New stock Hobbit head gasket back on as recommended as I did not lap the head like you have pictured, even tho it seems fairly simple! And I will recheck my Piston Ring gap as I do believe that may be my problem since I don’t remember actually setting the ring gap to a exact spec just eyed balled them and made su

***Update***I Put on the original reeds and did a compression test again before trying to start it, Im right at about 80PSI WITH wide open throttle,I also grounded the plug against the head and verified I have spark jumping on the spark plug when I pedal. I then attempted to start it and nothing again.Pulled the plug and it’s still Mostly DRY with the tiniest bit of gas on it.

Hey pancake really cool leak down tester you made, what is that black thing you have pictured in the first image? I’ve never seen that before, and I will be taking off the reeds today and putting back the originals to see if that changes anything and keep everyone posted the bike will not start at the moment but maybe the original reeds will change that

Bought a new crank with the bearings and seals and installed them and just verified I have the arrow on the cylinder pointing down towards the floor towards the Exhaust port so I don’t think the piston is backwardsI do not believe the decomp is leaking what would be the best way to test that? Shouldn’t around 75psi be enough to at least pull fuel into the cylinder through the carb?

Ahh thank you for the advice on the crank, That avoids a future headache! And your right I’ll need a gasket for the crank case correct as I believe the crank itself comes with the crank seals and the DR kit comes with the other gaskets.I do have a spare Reed gasket from Trick Metric that I can use when putting the reeds back on but I meant to add,any recommendations on REEDS?Do I need to run these

Hello gentleman, so I have finally lost compression on my stock Hobbit, only getting 25psi on Mycornwell Tools Compression Tester. So after tearing down the motor, the Piston head is scratched as well as the piston sleeve. While I’m this far in to my rebuild I’ve decided to do a complete overhaul and replace all seals and upgrade my internals to give me a little more Speed. The bike has a PROMA Perf

Hey Marin, I’m also newer to this Hobby and Im 21 so i know what it’s like being around your age and getting into this hobby on a realistic income for someone or age compared to being grown and having play money for everything.Vintage Mopeds are definitely something that the older cats appreciate and it turns heads but it’s definitely not the cheapest hobby especially when finding parts I saved a

Thanks a lot guys for the quick reply it’s greatly appreciated! Lady I spoke with wanted $250 and I haven't even seen the condition in person yet but based off what Motörhead listed on what the bikes needs, the bike to me doesn’t seem worth the price especially when the end results isn’t much to strut around on even when restored I think ima just pass on this one and put a little more cash in
