I believe it is! They keep popping up on eBay, but some people are asking very high prices for poor condition wrecks. Haven't decided if I'm going to break this for spares, sell it on, or just keep it. It just came up locally at sensible price.

Hi There! Soon the UK will be alive with old Puches! The kill switch works by shorting out the ignition circuit. It will be on the left hand switch cluster. This is not a definitive guide, but has worked for me on 3 maxis this year;Drain every last drop of fuel out, Make sure petcock is on reserve, then tilt bike slightly backwards and to the Right. close petcock, throw a cup full of neat petrol in.

mostly is done on-line, but if you have a newly purchased vehicle you can do it at postoffice with green V5C slip from the logbook. you cant tax newly purchased vehicle on-line, as it wont be registered to you yet, as the remainder of the logbook will be in the post.

Hi!(THE FOLLOWING IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE)I already have it insuredI simply filled in a V112 form that I printed from our .gov website.Took it to the local post office and with this they gave me a receipt for £0.00.The surprising thing is that they allowed me to do this on Saturday the 19th, when it was not in fact exempt! Not sure how it would be done fully on-line, but it looks like you may be OK now

Still needs number-plate/registrationStill needs 'road tax', although its free of charge(I know- its insane, I have to go to the post office to 'buy' tax for nothing!)Still needs insuranceStill has to be roadworthyWhat its exempt from is the annual mechanical inspection for roadworthiness. (MOT)a Saving of a whole £25! But the feel good factor of knowing I'm now trusted to

(For those around the world; the UK has change the laws on MOT tests for 40y.o. vehicles, making them exempt from the annual test)So who's riding a classic for the first time today?Got mine 'finished' yesterday. Can't wait to get it out on the open road, until now its been a few hundred yards up and down a farm track.

SORTED!!90deg filter, and a slight chomp out of the plastic!
Adrian Salter — 5 years ago
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!I believe a decision has now been made......I will go for a slightly less aggressive bend to reposition the filter.going to order a 45 degree and a 90 degree filter and see what works best.Might even use a short length of hose. This will reduce the butchery to the plastic cover.Adrian

Does that have to be formed using malleable copper, or can I use multiple elbows soldered together?
Adrian Salter — 5 years ago

Nearing the completion of my first 'ped refurb! What I would like to know is, is there anything fundamentally wrong with the proposed air filter u-bend / extension?I want to use side covers to retain the original appearance as best possible.I will still need to cut a little away, but I wont need to butcher the whole end off!I know it needs to be air-tight and secure. And I'm not even sure

Been looking at that kit. Tried to register on M.K.s site, but its having a hissy fit over my postcode. Will have another go later. I'm in no hurry to get this one done. Complete strip down and respray first! Then see how I get on with twist shift for the gears!!! Driven regular foot change bikes in the past, but this is new to me.
