From myrons.Starting in late 1976, to satisfy different US state laws, Tomos made three speed versions, A3SL 20mph, A3GM 25mph, and A3SP 30mph. Fortunately, everything is the same on the three speed versions except the piston and the rear chain sprocket. The 30mph 2hp has a piston 50mm tall, and a 22 tooth rear sprocket. The 25mph 1.5hp has a piston 52mm tall, and a 24 tooth rear sprocket. The 20m

Buy new nut, few washers and a 1/4 in torque wrench. Drop the washers on the stud to space out the nut to the good threads.

Getting paid for services makes u a professional. So many fu out there, id use the word correct.Aside from decomp valve n spark plug and rings, Compression seal happens on the surface that contacts the head to the cylinder.Recommend a cheapo torque wrench for head torque, its quite low.Search: milling/dressing your head/cylinder.

If thats tdc on magneto and on the case the F fire mark then you should be good. Are you spraying premix in the small tubes while cranking.Sounds like you gone over most stuff, didnt see compression.Low compression will pop n not really fire, pull the top end n post picts. Also delete the kill circuit for testing purposes, clean grounds.

By the looks of the pict it does look clean, to clean actually. There should be unburnt 2 storke gas/oil all over.Meaning u got a fuel delivery issue/air leak.Check that fuel getting to the carb bowl, fuel flow, etc.Ring gap would indicate wear, search.Overheating- no fuel, are you running OG fan n shroud?

Dont know why you'd cut gaskets for a rubber reed block but your call. I've seen the crank seal behind the clutch bell a weakpoint. Popped out or tore up.

A good running m48 has acceptable acceleration. Try increasing your timing and triggering your choke to load up on accel.might be a tad lean on low rpms.

To save time, take a pict of the cylinder bore n piston. I.D. so you can order new rings, clean up the base gasket, heck head gasket n intake manifold, it just easier to place one order instead if waiting for weeks on multiple orders. Most likely clutches r shot. Take a read on tomos clutches. Side cover gasket, etc.

So the basic idea is line up the wheels. Front to middle of forks. Rear, use sprockets aka chain to line up.Now imagine/fabricate correct length spacers/washers to fill in the rest so that you can tighten everything tight without binding.

Check, clean n tighten grounds, spark cap to wire n wire to coil, clean n tight.
