Vespas r external ignition ground. Try grounding your blue wire out of the stator. If it runs and you want your brake lights to actually work then read up on your electrical system.

The clutches are automatic, they swing out when you throttle up. The lever is a decomp valve on your head aids in spinning up motor but not really necessary as vespas are pretty low compression.

Take a look at the tranny diagram. Make sure the peanut spring sits in the slot, and take a minute that your not missing anything, again check against the diagram.

Looks like you have a ton of surface area for a seal, all u need really need is a couple mm in width to seal. So...im guessing your mating surfaces are uneven.

^^try flipping or bumping the seal in farther. Basically sealing on a different area of the crank. Weird how its pooling n dripping.Maybe its crank wobble or your case is worn out letting the bearing bounce.

Pictures help. Say of items you think are questionable, rounded out clutch hub. Do you mean thee slots? Is it modified or stock? How does it run?Tomos will continue to shift with pretty tore up clutches but poor power thry will never really shift kinda just bounce between or take forever.

on questionable bolts i always ensure prefect fit of bit to bolt and alignment and impact carefully...meaning dont strip it, as it easy and happens quickly if you dont respect your tools power. Once it budges, go in and then out, in then out a few times to break up the threads.

there should be a wiring diagram in the wiki, those look like the two smaller eyeballs.

seals mostly go flush, except for hobbit and....i wipe a tiny bit of motoseal on the outside to help hold em in place especially if it popped out.

making an estoril fit is pretty easy, might involve some drilling holes bigger or hitting with a hammer a little bit but, get the thicker exhaust gasket and once loosely bolted up make sure to snug up your exhaust nuts and then the bracket.

stronger as well, locktite the outside threads.

i think your way too nice Mr. Keller. 50yr old mopeds are a buyer beware sold as is deal. Sure have them spin it up and around for 10-15mins but in reality past that you cant hold anyones hand.

quality and environmental conditions matter but even the best seals under ideal conditions get hard n brittle. Say a car that dont get used just falls apart after a few years, rubber in general and seals like to be heated/expanded and moved around to remain pliable.that said, even a new seal can be jacked.

Hmmm, maybe a couple rounds of electrical tape on the metal bars where its grounding out.

^Start with compression, then fuel flow, etc. Theres a whole list of stuff in the first post, i mean your exhaust could be clogged.

If it fits n freewheels the correct direction then you may need a longer chain. Makes it easier to pedel, but realistically id get the same tooth count.
