> It's 2mm narrower than it should be and I dunno how hard the stock con rod is. Might wear out and blow up with moderate abuse, who knows though. Try it out.I'm using it with a 10mm wrist pin not a 12mm, so it's not too narrow if that's what you're referring to. I've put around 100 miles on it without any catastrophic damage. Maybe I should open up my cylinder a

Kauai is awesome! It would be a good island for getting around on a kitted ped because the max speed limit on the whole island is like 40mph or something. Also, it's easy to hitch a ride if your ped breaks down and, of course, it's never too cold to ride.

Damn, I honestly had no idea folks were using o-rings on clamp-on carbs. I hadn't noticed anyone mention it once. It makes sense now: the carb seals at the end of the intake, not around the sides. Another lesson learned the hard way.Just bought some o-rings from the hardware store to try out on my A3. On the bright side, the broken SHA finally gave me an excuse to put a vm18 on my NC50, whic

Is there any reason not to use this:https://www.treatland.tv/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=doppler-bearing-10x14x13I have one on my A3 with the 44mm Airsal and haven't had any troubles.

Any plans to make NC50 springs (same size as Derbi)? There's a huge need for them for several reasons:1) NC50s suffer from weak low end torque and don't have external sprockets to swap out, so clutch tuning is a must.2) Clutch tuning is notoriously hard with NC50s because the stock springs are already about as stiff as the stiffest aftermarket springs. If you can make them stiffer, we

> shim, rubber gasket, lots and lots of goop. rinse> and repeat. What sort of rubber gasket? Do you mean a piece of rubber wrapped around the whole shim or an o-ring type of thing behind the shim?I'll avoid goop if I can, especially in or near my carb.

They can be hard to tune. This one was on a H20-kitted NC50 and was always rich at low end or lean at high. I didn't try "slide tuning" but it sounds like a pain in the ass. I have the same 15mm SHA on my kitted A3 and it runs great except for the leaky intake...

I don't have a preference because I've never used either one. Jets for a 70cc setup with a pipe would be great too.

As if folks at MA need another reason to hate on SHA's, they have a nasty habit of leaking at the intake when this stupid clamp doesn't seal right:I decided to file down the tabs at top to get the clamp more snug on the shim. Big mistake:This wasn't from over-torquing, I barely tightened it. The clamp just can't close past what those tabs I shaved off would allow.I'll rep

Check out the San Fran Tech Shop. I had a membership at the one in Pittsburgh and they had a sandblaster, powder coating gun, booth and a walk-in oven large enough for frames. Once you pay for the membership and the class for using the powder coater, you can use it as much as you want for free. It's not hard to get the hang of powder coating. Once I got it down, I was powder coating every li

What's up Hoosiers? I just moved to South Bend from Pittsburgh and haven't seen a single moped on the streets since I showed up. Does anyone ride around here?I know there's a bunch of you in Elkhart. Hit me up if you get together and ride before the snow starts. Also, what do you guys in Indiana do about registration and insurance for >50cc kitted peds? Are the cops clueless e

The easiest thing to do is drill a couple of holes in the metal between the two tanks
Rob GasketFace — 7 years ago
But couldn't someone just walk up to a parked moped, copy the vin and do the same thing? What's the big difference between parking it and posting it online?

The idle screw just moves the slide up a little. Take out your air filter so you can see the slide and make sure it closes all the way when the idle screw is loosened enough. My guess is that your throttle cable or slide are not installed correctly. Make sure you have a little slack in your throttle cable. Don't thread the cable through the spring above the slide. And make sure the slide f

It's pretty unlikely you'll find the rear wheel for sale. They're pretty hard to find. I'd go ahead and order those spokes if I were you.I have a front wheel brake assembly. What parts do you need from it?

Treatland is top notch for performance parts and commonly replaced components like pistons, jets, tires, air filters, sprockets, etc. But if I need some little esoteric stock component for my Tomos or Puch, mopedjunkyard almost always has it.Just look at their Tomos transmission page for example:http://www.themopedjunkyard.com/A3tomostransmission.htmlThey have every little spring, sprocket, gear,

Just moved out of Pittsburgh, but there are a few folks around who ride.

Sale is over. Headed to the post office now, moving out of state tomorrow. Most of the stuff sold. Glad I could keep this junk on the road instead of in the dump.
Rob GasketFace — 7 years ago
Mirrors, controls, tank, kickstart levers, muffler heat shield, magneto and cables sold. Still have everything else.Must PM and paypal before I go to the post office tomorrow morning. After that, the big stuff is getting junked and the small stuff is getting packed up for my move.
Rob GasketFace — 7 years ago
Forgot to mention, kick start levers are welded so that the peg thing doesn't fold closed.I got a lot of PMs within the first couple of hours after posting. I'll reply to them all later this evening.
Rob GasketFace — 7 years ago
Also these two kickstarters. One is for an Express and the other has a larger diameter. I can measure them if you want. Both are powder coated.
Rob GasketFace — 7 years ago
I have this throttle assembly, but no grip.I'll send it for price of shipping.
Rob GasketFace — 7 years ago
Almost all of it is Express stuff. Except the top end is an A3, the wheel is FA50, and the magneto is from the treats ZA50 CDI kit.I'll throw away the larger pieces if they don't sell this week. Rescue them from the dump!

Moving over the weekend. I've gotten rid of about half my junk from previous posts. This is what's left. Will send for price of shipping or pick it up for free if you're local.

Jets aren't mods that you swap out to go faster. You need to find the right jet size for your set up. Being off by a few sizes will make your bike run like shit. A few more sizes and you can fuck up your engine. You can't learn mopeds by asking questions. Start here:http://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Fred%27s_Guide
Rob GasketFace — 7 years ago
Bump. Everything is cost of shipping, or free if you can pick it up in Pittsburgh. Just trying to get rid of it all before I move.
Rob GasketFace — 7 years ago
Down to $20 now. Just want to get rid of it.

> its easy to get an air tight weld with flux core anybody that says you cant obviously cant weldWell then I guess I can't weld! Working on improving, though. I managed to get my exhaust mounted, but it's not a pretty sight. Good thing it's on my ugly rustbucket A3 and not my pretty bike.Think I'll stick together random pieces or scrap for practice.
