I was reading loss of compression can be cause by a leaking seal. I was wondering if there is anyway I can know if I have a leaking seal/having trans oil getting into the crankshaft case? My exhaust seems to smell kind of funny now. Also would taking apart the E50 require new seals? Or could I just reuse them? I rebuilt the E50 in December I think. Anyways to notice oil leakage?
It's been there for awhile since it got dirt and grime in it awhile back. But I sand it out and when I run it, the score marks reappear. Just don't know whats going on. My main concern is the loss of power I have, I just installed blue springs and have 2 metal head gaskets. Maybe to much compression is causing it to leak when it running hot? But temps are low though so I'm flabberga
I have an Dellorto SHA so I have to compensate for the rich idle but I'll try to downjet and see how it turns out. I was reading online and running rich for a long time can result in blow-by and loss of compression so I understand a bit.
Just curious but how can being to rich effect the loss of power or scoring? Can jetted to rich increase temps? I thought I would upjet then downjet?
The temps are not even passing 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Also the plug looks about right
So I start my moped from a cold start and let it warm up. After that I drive off with some nice low-end and great acceleration and top speed. But after awhile of driving that sweet performance it lost. After slowing to a stop and driving off again, that low-end is lost and the top speed is lost also. What I think it is, is that when the cylinder is cold along with the piston and ring, it has more
Well to say, I was running a panty-hose air filter in the rain/wet roads. I believe it sucked in dirt, rock, and such that cause the cylinder and piston to be scored. It was idling at some point then it rapidly started accelerating and increasing in temps. I turned it off then removed the cylinder. I swiped the oil with my hands off the piston and cylinder wall and noticed it was grimy with dirt a
I'm thinking about honing out the seize scratches on my 70cc K-star but I've noticed the Nicasil lining is very thin. Is it possible without busting through the lining?
Generally speaking, would a 50cc kit be more reliable/wear proof compared to a 70cc kit? I have 50cc kit that still has all the crosshatches nicely visible while the 70cc not so much. I mean, a 50cc has a piston that covers less space and more compact so less wear? If this makes an sense. I'm just having thoughts........... Thank You
I have this Mikuni Carb that I got off a Taiwanese SpeedBird Moped and I have trouble identifying it. Its sort of like VM but different. The main jet is a short hexagon. It says Z66 on the clamp mount. It says Mikuni on the side. I'm starting to think it might be a clone/fake.
WE WANT MORE!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the great work!
Bump. Any good tricks and tips to match the gasket to the transfer ports so its nice and even and making sure the gasket is leveled with the case when putting on the sharpie?
Bump....Any intakes on treatland that can work with the 17mm bing?
So I looked into my K-Star and saw the cross-hatches are no longer visible. Might have the rings set-in? I don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing.
Can I get a pic of the clutch cover side of the engine?
So I bought these https://www.treatland.tv/polini-m6-moped-engine-cylinder-stud-p/polini-engine-stud-144215001.htm and put them on my engine. The problem is that when I torque down my nuts to 7 FT/LB the nuts strip even before I get there. I bought the nuts at a local hardware store and I'm thinking the quality of the nuts are bad and the Polini studs are to strong. Any advice?
Sort of like this but not using cdi
So I was messing with my timing on my E50 and now when I place the stator at any degree, the bike seems to misfire at certain speeds/RPMs. What might be the problem? Did I screw something up while I was at it?
one full turn is 1mm isn't it
So I ordered the Buzzetti timing tool for Puch moped, with an E50. I already had a fire mark on the flywheel when I previously used a measurement tape. So for my K-Star I put it at 17 degrees so 1 and 7/10 cm( if this is correct) this is when I marked it with the tape. Here is the problem when I used the timing tool to check accuracy and if when I marked the fire mark using it, it would line up wi
