o rings have to be a precise size or they will leak.if too big for the groove they will not compress into the groove and overlap and then fail as they are exposed to combustion stuff. ive got pics of that on my head.if too small they wont seal.just measure your groove - width and depth and the look up on the net. there are tables showing correct sized o ring for any given cross sectional area of

im sorry mark i have no experience with the polini. all you can do is follow what i saidget main jet right then see how it runs at 3/4 7/8ths throttle and to get that right you might be lucky and find the current needle just needs clipping right - like bairdco says.ive never been that lucky and just gone straight to needle tip. but im taking phbg might not be the same for polini so apologise if iv

my moby cylinders are 41.8 stroke. and i cant get them to run with the longer stroke crankunless i could stretch the cylinder.if i jack up the cylinder to get deck height correct the ports are all too high.peak rpm at 12k which isnt what i want. i was hoping your derboi was 43mm stroke.i know puchs are 43 mm stroke but stud spacing is way out. studs are outside the barrel. i might have to get crea

what derbi model is it and what is the stroke and bolt spacing?i would appreciate an answer because im looking for a cylinder to use my 43mm stroke crank with plus yours has the same transfer feeds that i need.

i bought a couple of those tachos with the wire you wrap round the ht and they were too wildly innacurate. does that model actually work well?i think i was at 92 then fitted the airbox mod thing and it then ran rich - fourstroking so i went down a few sizes and it seemed to run ok apart from the warbling.ill check the choke. i have pulled the choke on a few times to cool the motor down and it doe

get your pilot jet something like then get your main jet one size down from four stroking ay wot.then ride at 3/4 7/8ths throttle and to get that right choose the right needle tip diameter. moving clips sometimnes isnt enough. if its rich and 4 stroking at 3/4 throttle then fit a thicker tipped needle. and the opposite is true. then when youve got the right needle tipid try getting the pilot jet b

piston in the ports doesnt matter.its the point at which the piston opens the port that matters as this governs your port timing or duration.if you try spacing your cylinder up 1mm to get the bottom of the ports level with the piston at bdc (which doesnt matter at all) as a side effect for every mm you raise the cylinder you raise the peak power by about 1500 -2000 rpm. obviously depending on stro

84ive just put an 88 in and there is very little difference???? 84 was chinese 88 was gen dellorto.still does the warbling. my gut feeling is the reeds are doing their own little reverberational dance .ill try 90 tomorrow, maybe my air box mod pipe is too long? mad thing is i can feel a massive pulses coming out of the inlet pipes in the bottle. as if the motor is pushing air out of the carb. as o

if hes not running oil does that mean he can go smaller with his jet size?

hahaha!!re the cost of all the bits. if you want to tune the carbs accurately you need a range of jets and needles regardless of whether the carb is a clone or genuine.for 11 dollars you can buy a full repair kit with everything in it. slide springs jets atomiser even throttle stop screws.louis re running without oil you might have damaged everything and for the small price it costs to replace al

my 100k thermistor reads up to 195 degrees C.my motor was on the verge of nipping up i am sure.someone posted thermistors wont work up to head temps?i also bought 2x 100k NTC thermistor for printers which were labelled high temp. i had made a sensor but on tightening the plug it all came apart. i realised the crimp needs leaving on and can be jammed inbetween the fins to hold it in place and stop

louis2 of my 4 clone 19mm phbg carbs have come with the wrong atomiser - 4stroke and twice the pilot jets were unnumbered (prob size 60) and the main jets were out. plus needles too thin.fitted out of the box - ran like a pig.but.....once you change everything and set up for your motor they seem to run very well.i like the idea of having the same carb on all my bikes so i only need to have on

i used a clear plastic back so i could feed cable ties under it to secure to the bars.when this battery dies i simply have to undo 4 screws and replace the battery again and replace back.the back keeps the terminal firmly pressing on the battery.

i made a silencer out of an aerosol can and some tubing and it really quietened down my home made pipe. to an almost boring leveldunno if it was the lack of angry noise or what but it seemed to go slower.so it came off.

i was given a dead tto without sensor.i cut it open using the same approach to cutting away your skin to find a deeply embedded splinter.. ie very slowly. and carefully. i found the battery and terminals and managed to prise off the terminal from the back of the battery. the terminals seemed to be partly covered in a non conductive clear lacquer which at first i didnt realise and wondered why the

i just read about epoxying the thermistor close to the copper washer but mine is in the middle of a blob of jbweld prob 5mm diameter .so im 2.5mm away from washer.is this too far?

thanks for that chaps i took it to a bike repair shop and he reckoned it could simply be the belt slipping and decribed it as more of a judderingand stephen can you go into a bit more detail about where to reinforce the motor mount area? are there any pics on here?its got enough power to get up to 50mph gps in just 260 metresive used rebels sound advice a few times on contra spring stiffening etc.

my trailtech gauge works perfectly and reads the correct temp with a 100k NTC thermistor.im going to epoxy one to an M14 copper washer and wire it up and report back with pics.but in future if anyone wants to make their own sensor its a 100k NTC thermistor you needusually 5 for $2 on ebay.
