maybe a 17mm bing but they still all pretty much suck.. i was a beginner and figured out how to tune a phbg.. its really pretty simple.. all my bings on the other hand were leaky pos when i was a beginner so maybe i am a bit biased..
Oh and tuning your clutch moderatly is key so you don't chew through it climbing hills.. I used the stiff springs from treats on a three shoe one turn in flush from the clutch shoe.
I'm going to chime in here because from my experience a kstar is very reliable and bolt on and go.. You dont need to case match a kstar and it will still rip.. Yeah wheel tuning is easy a shit and it's very rewarding.. Just buying another wheel is lazy and mopeds don't like lazy owners.. They will break down on you at every chance.. I'm serious no joke you are looking at long walks home pushing your broken ped.

need a replacement cylinder for my gila maxi.. mine seized last year and it took a chunk out of the wall.. it runs but stumbles along at a 50cc power equivalent.. so anyways i could really use a gila cylinder if someone is willing to let theirs go and help me get my ped back on the road..unfortunatly im not trying to make this setup with both cylinders sorry guys!

Looking for a Puch top tank frame that is collecting cobwebs in your shed.. I also would love any Tank that fits on the standard magnum or cobra layout.. lol that same spring is in the kstar with no issues.. i installed it the same way 9 months ago no issues.. the gila has way more power then this can most likely handle.. sucks oh well back to the 3 shoe..
dude i couldnt even fit a 20 front with out grinding on two za50s.. biggest you can go is 19 without grinding from my experience
^^^the clutch is toast the top shoe in the pic is missing the bottom half of the shoe.. there is no saving it with a spring.. so much for my indestructible setup.. :/
it still runs great.. just shakes like hell at mid range..obviously i will need a new bell bushing for running it like this.. hopefully thats all it needs.. yet to pull the clutch..
time to get the clutch puller... :/
the clutches do not stand upto a gila kit with an HPI..
id run 14-45 if you want to blast uphills and still top out over 40

oh maize i just realized you think i only have one ped..I have had many many peds.. the one that broke a ring due to a bad wheel bearing was the cobra after i just bought it from rodney at treats.. true i should have noticed it but i didnt give fuck..I installed that motor on my maxi with the MK clutch and swapped it for my old kstar jug... it has been my most reliable 45-50mph hill climber ever.

I have ridden it for a few days now and its working fine.. I dont have the clutch puller for this clutch.. but like i have
So the clutch works fine.. not as crazy as i expected, but it works good.. right now I cant really tell when it grabs since its a really smooth fast acceleration.. though if i were to guess its pretty low around 15-20mph.. I was able to get the clutch to have a harder grab around 25mph on my kstar though i was using the stiffer tomos spring..so i will try out some more springs on this later on..@
Maize- pretty sure i didnt say anything about review in this thread.. this is simply the process of installing the clutch.. not hard but documented non the less for the future..
yeah the screw driver is def not the ideal method.. i think using a round pipe or something would be nicer.. still though the hooks on the clutch base already caused gaps in the spring before i removed it.. So MK sells them with gaps from their assembly too..anyways my maxi has the same clutch with little gaps here and there from me re-installing it and the ped blasts up hills..@ringring- Oh i wil
this is a new clutch not used.. the other one is still in the maxi.. and I know this setup is indestructible because I have built a gila with the exact same setup minus this MK clutch.. and this MK clutch is solid in the maxi.. yes the maxi is just a Kstar, but like i said in my previous thread about this.. I can feel that this clutch wants more power behind it.. anyways.. i'll let you know m
