in the atv world Ive seen people use pool noodles or dollar store balls to accomplish the same thing but those are also tubeless tires running around 5-7 psi.I bought some tires from motorcycle superstorehttp://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/5/32/404/20891/ITEM/Shinko-SR714--F-R-Moped-Tire.aspxthey were cheap and have held up well and I think it had free shipping but dont quote me on that.

i feel like this is the only time putting a four stroke motor on a vintage moped would be acceptable. The girl I used to work with built one of those with a motorized bicycle kit motor and it turned out pretty cool.

in Maryland you cannot exceed 30 but you are allowed to travel on roadways with a posted speed limit of 50 and people drive 65....safety first!

yeah if you pull on the spring a little so it wraps around the plastic the gear should slide down a little (keeping the spring in place) and big adaptor plate will keep pressure on the gear. Also if you look at the top pic and yours youll see that your gear is over too far which could be whats pulling the spring across the plastic hub thingy.
Mike Price — 9 years ago
the adaptor plate that the gear rides on should push that down

on mine the spring just doesnt have the same return as say a dirt bike, but it will slowly come back up. Just make sure if you have the center stand that its not rubbing the stand spring, mine gets hung on that sometimes.

Qt50 are awesome bikes just not a lot of parts for them
Mike Price — 9 years ago
yeah ill check the timing. The part that really drives me crazy is it ran awesome 2 weeks ago and the only thing that i changed prior to it acting up was the kickstart cover gaskets. I replaced the head gasket, base gasket, exhaust and intake gaskets chasing the problem. I did take the filter off to verify slide movement and didn't really notice any difference. It started backfiring (four

So I've been working on this off and on and just freshened up all the gaskets and got my kickstart kit installed. This bike always starts right up has great pull.... See attached video.http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=2yo8jyh&s=5I had a small crack in the kickstart cover so I ordered a new one and switched everything over. Now it runs terrible, see attached video. I've cleaned out
