If I am correct the amount of oil should be increased if the amount of fuel and air are increased.Should he mix a 50 to 1 ratio?

My friend just bought a low ml Tomos A55 ped. The previous owner put a unrestricted air filter, a Biturbo exhaust and re-jetted the carb.My question is should he lose the oil injection an pre-mix his gas to make sure enough oil is supplied to prevent undo wear.

Really has anyone used one, does it work?

Copper tubing would be easier to work with and conducts heat better, I've thought of doing that to a Tomos with oil injection and using the output to run a cooling pump.

Have you tried using a hotter plug?

My understanding is that an A3 uses a 10mm inside diameter needle bearing for the piston and the A35 uses a 12mm inside diameter needle bearing for the piston. Tou have to use the A35 piston so basicaly you use the A3 piston pin and use two 10mm inside diameter and 12mm outside diameter shims which you cut in lenght to fit between the A3 pin and the A35 piston clip, this will allow oil to reach th

I am currently using a b6hs and a NKG resistor cap. By going bad I meam I used both a b7hs and b8hs plugs which did rev a little higher but shortly both plugs went bad as in no spark.I also think I might be running to much fuel, I have an Airsal 74cc cylinder new cases, seals etc... my somtimes drunk mechanic buddy convinced me to get a Dellorto 21mm carb as apposed to the 19mm carb which the sell

Thanks this has been the most use full info so far. I have been using resistor plugs but found that the type that worked best would go bad, any sugestions on the proper plug to use?

I have used a timing light and it starts to go eratic at moderate rpms.I've have been told it may have to do with interference from the sparkplug with the actual CDI unit, I've been thinking of trying to sheild the CDI unit and wire.
The Late Night Mumbler — 11 years ago
I did that, I bought a CDI unit from a different manufacture and ahd the same results.

The engine in self contained and is not affected by the drive belt, which has th origional springs.

I think it's at about at TDC, I'm using the pickup on the stator plate to match up the flywheel since I don't think the stator plate mounts to the AV7 engine the same since the keyway does not, on both the replacement crankshaft and the replacement flywheel match TDC.Am I wrong in thinking the pickup on the stator is a good timing mark.See pictures, the keway matches the mark on the

I replaced the origional ignition on my Motobecane AV7 engine with a cheap MBK AV10 CDI unit and cannot get the engine to rev up high enough to engage the gear. I've tried different plugs (having been told that a resitor plug was needed) with limited success.I am at my wits end and am thinking of replacing the ingnition with a more expensive one but that would have to wait to purchase it.I

You may be right in that the idle is to high causing it to engage. Have you checked all the bearings. A wobblying shaft might cause all the caos.

Just buy a working bike, no offence.

Check to see if throttle cablle is bound or not seated on each end

TRy a hotter spark plug

The only other way is to use use an easyout. As always use WD40 and heat, get the studs as flush as possible (a dremel type tool is always handy) then use a punch with a hammer to indent the center of the stud. Use a hand drill starting with the smallest drill bit up to size required for the eazyout gettting deeper and wideras the bits get bigger, also spray bit periodicaly with lube (WD40).Go slo

Here you go.First if the stud is sticking ou enough to clamp on a vise grip try that but spryt the stud with WD40 and use a propane torch to heat up the area. Reapeat the WD40 and heat this will allow the WD40 to penetrate and will hopefully help loosen the stud.

Do you mean uber glue?

What is the best adhesive to glue cork clutch strips to the clutch shoe. I tried Elmers glue, did not work so well but it did tast good.

The engine is a complete rebuild and one of the specialized bolts on the old point ignition set up twisted in half so I cannot reasemble it. I will try to re-set the timing and shield the wiring to minimize the affect of the spark plug on the CDI unit.
