Racing is completely addicting. Once you do it, or are around it, it's in your blood!
Even if you got to that speed: so what? Pointless thread for someone not trying to prove anything!
I'm an old guy & if you've got nothing to prove you're not very good at it !
Always use an in line filter. Just cheap insurance. On exterior parts I always coat them with something with some type of oil so they won't start rusting, which they usually do, almost immediately.
This reminds me I have a similar issue with my tail lights & I need to get on it. Hope you find out what's wrong with yours, too.
Yes, you can do most any kind of plating at home. However it's not cheap. besides having a purpose built set up, you also need good polishing equipment & lots of wheels & compounds to go with, for each level of plating you're doing. I've got several really good books and even went in with a friend on a moderately expensive plating kit, from Casswell Plating in NY, but we nev
Last year, my brother bought a Puch Maxi. It was fairly complete, non molested, and needed the regular stuff that needs changing anyway, like the chains & a general clean up. Came with a ZA & snowflakes, but the tank had a hole & it was a bitch to clean & seal it, but the sealer we used is rock solid. The only reason I say it was a bitch is because we had to practically disassemble
Isn't it great to live in a small community & do all your errands on a Moped & park right outside the door with the bikes? Been doing it for a little over 15 years now and hardly ever use any other transpo unless I really have to. They'll have to pry the bars out of my hands before I'll stop.
Yeah, Ditch the pump. When they fail, ur engine's toast + they're always way too rich.
I use it often, with the same great results. Very under-rated solution. Fairly safe, too.
Umm............we're waiting on those pix
Please share some of the places you're looking for/at parts
There's definitely a place for electric. It will be interesting to see where this is at by min 2018. Oddly, my first question is how are these people are surviving, in one of the most expensive places there is, if they're not selling about 10 a week minimum?
Get a MLM Rev-Run if you can find one. The key, to the equation, is modifying the stock reed plate & fabricate a custom reed for it. Good for 55+ without doing a case match & much more with.
I have always been a fan of 2 strokes. That being said, I believe we're at the brink of an electric revolution. Having a silent Moped, that can go fast for only, say, 15-20 miles would be super cool. Further obviously better. Besides loving Mopeds I also like to fly ultralights. The power plants are heavy, noisy and expensive to run, and need lots of maintenance. Peeps, that have converted to
Best article from people who REALLY know 2Ts. Scroll down to 'oil migration', however there's a plethora of excellent info in the entire article.http://www.klemmvintage.com/kaw500h1.htm
This is why we fix our own stuff !
One thing many people overlook is intake tract volume. This applies to ALL 2Ts. There is a wealth of 2T info in this article, however scroll down to intake tract volume for this specific question:http://www.klemmvintage.com/kaw500h1.htm
Woolly has the best answer
Amazing the prices these days. Back when I started a moped like that would be given away or had for 20 bucks.
My money would be on lacquer thinner, being it's old as it is. Is there any left over smell to it? That could give you a hint. Try on your least favorate to give it a try.
Dealing with the loss of a pet is one of the hardest things in life and most times lasts for years. I'm sure you gave your best. Best thoughts.
can't believe how retarded some people are!
pix not working. all your past pix have worked. bummer
Big carbs suck except for actual racing!
I LOVE my Free Spirit. Best moped for easy trailer hitch mount, too.
Make sure your calipers are clean. I have worked with this guy, on several occasions & he really knows his shit. For track days he recommends cleaning every 2 days! His suspension tuning vids are second to none.
