Any tips or hints? I need a longer fuel line I'm guessing as the fuel comes in on the right hand side of the carb (when sitting on the bike). The idle adjust screw is in a weird place too. Any ideas? (Also I got the treats party pack so I have the intake.)http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/puch-dellorto-SHA-15mm-carb-intake-treats-party-pack_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategor

I got my IRC 17-2.25s from them really quick. Double check to see if what they claim is in stock is. Otherwise no problems.

Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse had IRCs a while ago. Not sure if they still do. I'm waiting on 3.00 x 17s from them however which have been backordered for quite a while.

I just got a carb and the boss pipe for it. I can get it to run but it's hemmoraging gas out of the pipe. The float is set ok and it doesn't leak when it's just sitting there but running it floods the crap out of it.Let me see...Before:!http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/6381/img0174cc0.jpg!After:!http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/2631/img0201tv7.jpg!I have the new tires in the bac

Ordered a petcock for my puch and it was out of stock so after a few emails (super fast) they offered to send me one free when they come in for my wait. How awesome is that?I told them I'm happy to pay for it (maybe free shipping) but I just thought that was some rad customer service!

Which is has more torque?

I'm loving working on peds because parts are so cheap. Vespa parts are are so damn expensive (although P and stella kits are relatively cheap).Do better cranks make a difference?
ethanol — 14 years ago
I'm pretty new to mopeds but have done a bunch of Vespas and motorcycles. I don't need anything super fast just want something with good low end for my 6'4" ass and something reliable. I think the metra sounds solid.Just not sure exactly which carb to run and if the boss pipe is good the price is hella nice.
ethanol — 14 years ago
Yeah I heard the metra kits are really good.

So I'm thinking about getting my puch kitted up but I want to do it on the cheap.I'm a pretty big guy so I want mostly low end not top speed. So I was thinking:65cc metrakit cylinder kit *$165*http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/new-puch-65cc-metrakit-cylinder-kit-maxi-magnum-moped_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategoryZ35618QQihZ002QQitemZ120340657790QQtcZphotourlBOSS pe

Start a branch? Clean the carbs make sure the leaves are on tight. Then climb to a higher branch and give it a couple good kicks.Should fire right up.

I already had the biggest bolt in there that would fit. I need something that's been hardened.
ethanol — 14 years ago
Any idea what works as a temporary pin that holds the crank/pedal on? I had a bolt in there but it exploded to shit in a way I've never seen a bolt fail. I'm gonna try to order one but what's a good replacement in the meantime? Will bike stores have something similar?

Internal. this is for a newport with the bike style handlebar mounts so I going to have to do some weird stuff to get it to work. should be fine though. I'm probably going to have to do some playing with the throttle to get it to clear the cable where it enters the handlebar tube. should look pretty damn clean though.
Ethanol — 14 years ago
I know what they are. Bought 'em up off ebay.Have to make my own throttle now and move the start lever thing. There's some other weird stuff I'm doing to this bike (newport). Should be... unique.

Yeah they've been bumping them back since summer. I'm guessing they will never be in. If anyone's still looking for tires I just got 4 from Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse and they have more.2 IRC NR53 2.25-17 $31.002 IRC NR53 2.75-17 $31.90Tax:$0.00 Shipping:$18.09 Total:$80.99Thought it was a good deal considering some places want like $4
ethanol — 14 years ago
Guys I have been talking to said they just sold an insane amount of tires this summer. So while it's frustrating (I'm waiting on 4 tires) it's awesome to know that there will be a lot more bikes out there next spring.By the way what's the largest tires you can run on a puch maxi without scraping/rubbing or modifying the frame?
ethanol — 14 years ago
So I'm trying to get the pedals off my puch for a repaint but I can't figure out how to get the retaining bolt off. I took the nut off but there's no way to screw it the rest of the way out (the head of the bolt is rounded). I pounded on it a bit but I don't want to fuck it up. Any tips? Also show me your home-made headlights!
ethanol — 14 years ago
This should fit on a puch, with a little work, right?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/motobecane-moped-RED-petcock-fuel-valve-50v-51v-av7-10_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategoryZ35620QQihZ007QQitemZ170270619056QQtcZphoto

That's what I figured. Just a different option package. I still can't find tires though. Damn. Two bikes that need rubber and nothing in stock anywhere.
ethanol — 14 years ago
So I just picked up a 500 original mile Newport. What engine stuff will fit on it? Maxi kits? Also what are the largest tires I can run (and does anyone know where to get tires? Can't find shit.)Ethan
