Got it home and sorta got her running. Started on carb cleaner and ran for a bit. Anything I should know about these weird 4-stroke bikes?Looks gorgeous. Nice paint and decals. Seat needs to be rebuilt but I'm already 60% of the way done with that. It came with the original owners manual, DMV certificate and keys. Nice.I'll post pics tomorrow or Thursday.

"that is not really a good attitude to have if you want a nice bike."Doing it yourself trying to get it right seems a lot better to me than paying someone else to do it for you. Yeah but I guess you're right. Who would ever want to try to work on their own bike and learn new skills when they could just buy all the parts for their bike.oh, yeah, yuppies who own $45k Harley's.I s

I used to have a similar car (Audi 90s) in black. Man it was a piece of shit but I loved that car. Just gorgeous and ran like a dream when it wasn't overheating.Awesome in so many ways. Crappy in so many german over-engineered ways.

Never seen that felt page before. Shit maybe I'll throw a lifan engine on one of those things, could be fun.
ethanol — 14 years ago
I didn't say I was gonna buy one just liked the idea. I've been wanting an old racer style bike for ever (like a Thor) and just thought these were kinda cool. I like the white tires too.

"It’s more of a hate for crappy bikes, with crappy engines, riddled with crappy components being sold for way too much money…"Did you even look at the site? They're made in America, probably with chinese parts but they seem like a cool idea.I just happen to like almost anything with wheels and a motor. Sorry if they don't meet your super high standards.Ass.

What the fuck kind of insurance do you have?"insurance for my moped is *105$ a month* give or take 15$ for some benifits from my provider "_WHAT?!?_I pay $7 a month for my Vespa and it has uninsured motorist coverage and an agreed value of $5,000 so if it gets totaled I don't just get the blue book value (~$100 or some crap). Seriously man, find some different insurance, that's

So I found some handlebars I liked. Chopped them down and they seem really good. Nice riding position and I think they look cool.Expensive ($45) but I think it's worth it.What do you think?
ethanol — 14 years ago
Hmm... didn't think about that. Maybe I can find some for a kids bike.
ethanol — 14 years ago
Yeah I was planning to chop them a bit. BMX parts are awesome, fitt a lot better on peds than mtb bike parts and seem "chunkier".I tried in town but the rise on all the bmx bars was just way to high for me.

Yeah I didn't mean to put anyone down, I've worked in customer service and I realize most people are dumb as rocks.I, too, have taken to just saying it's for an old european bike and usually don't get many questions after that. One really frustrating experience I had was going to a motorcycle salvage yard and dealing with the owner's wife. She's cool and knows her stu

"So... what kind of bike is this for"When looking for parts. This isn't just for mopeds but man is it frustrating. I go to a junkyard, motorcycle salvage, pepboys whatever and I know exactly what I want and ask the guy at the counter if they have a part."You want a ___________? Hmm... well what kind of bike is it for? Honda CB? Harley?"I know they are just trying to make t

I have a G7S. It's awesome. Got it in rough condition for $400. Just waiting on tires for it.
ethanol — 14 years ago
I've made a bunch. You want a much firmer foam that you might think. It will compress a lot and if it's too soft it will hurt your ass. Also don't use leather to cover it. Sounds great but really hard to sew (almost impossible) and doesn't last too great outside in the elements. If you go to an upholstery shop (not store) they will be able to ggive you or sell you cheap scraps
