I run motul 60:1 on my polini.its clean on the inside, no hard or soft seize.never sweat it it at all :)oh yeah, and I blast hard ;)
i started at 50:1 when the kit was new (under 1000 miles) switched to 60:1 and blast hard. I can run at 55 mph for hours never getting any signs of seizing. It makes sense why Polini said to run 60:1 in my opinion.I will preface it with saying that if you do it, make sure you take the time to jet right though! polini's are already fickle kits as it is.
I would say breaking in may not be how "hard" you ride your polini, but taking the time to jet (getting to 4 stroke) and then leaning down from there and making sure that you aren't lean anywhere through your throttle range.I just posted this similar post in another thread, but look up using 60:1 ratio for your polini. 77 guys had a polini interview where that is what they said to
Don't be sooo scared of seizing your polini.Make sure you jet correctly. Also, look up the interview that 77 had with the Polini guys about seizing their kits. They suggested running 60:1 oil ratio, because at higher rpms the oil actually gets hotter and hinders, so you run less.I have run 60:1 on my polini since I read that. Ran it at the Richmond rally, and as my daily driver. WOT all the
An easy way to find out is the wiki section on puchs and the search function.puchs have a shit ton of available parts. and can go fast pretty cheap. or super fast kinda cheap
I have headlight and tail light with brakes.do some simple math to figure out how much power your leds are really using. I think right now I'm at 7 or 8 watts total used between headlight and tail light. My headlight doesn't go out at idle, slightly dimmer but most peds are like that anyways.biggest issue is throwing an actual beam with leds. I haven't been able to work with mine us
yeah top cranks have a weird snap ring placement? For mine I just ended up putting in 1 extra snap ring to get mine to work correctly>?If you look at the rebuild an e50 wiki, he uses a top crank. You can go 45-50 and remain cheap. When you want to go 55 or higher that's where all your parts will start being expensive.hpi cdi not hard to tune.you can also get that treats cdi, easy to setup as
the paper that comes with it explains it.get about 3mm btdc.then you move the red part on the stator to line up with the correct line on the flywheel.you need the pictures for this, but it is easy. i managed to do mine in richmond without a tool and running well.
I'm running:polini 64 case matched with more port worksimonini pipehigh comp head4 petal reed valve with boyeson dual layer reedsphbg 19mm racingtop racing crank3 shoe clutch paz springs, lightened with custom made plate (so arms don't bend)lightened clutch bell, and cover/platelightened the main gearhpi cdithat may be it?I go damn near 60 (haven't maxed out all the way yet, still b
just got over this on a top racing as well.Took forever to get it right.A few side notes...It's easy too think you have too much "compression", however that shouldn't stop the starter function from being extremely hard to start.Things to make sure are correct include:~ make sure your clutch cable isn't snagged or bound, it will make it pull tight at the lever but actually
man universally gorilla glue fixes almost everything.
I'm still figuring it out.polini. 4p, porting. 19mm phbg, simo.I'm expecting 40?
that's always a relief you could probably work with that situation
I laughed at the pedals cuz they reminded me of iddy biddy T-REX arms
yeah don't use chainsaw oil.there are plenty of other oils specifically designed to run better for this particular useamsoil saber heard good thingsyou will also find lots of people don't leave home without MOTUL
yeah, polini kits make a "metallic" noise. always blamed it on the reeds(when i have the 2p with metal fingers).as for the sound in your video. like i said earlier no bueno. spend the 45 and open her up
also cutting down for style.carbs in space is for astronauts!
be safe and open her up.e50s tear apart in no time. no excuse not to
got to autozone.buy every bullethole stick, and "performance" up grade stickers you can find or steal them out of air intake boxes.put them on your helmet and bike.if those give cars +5 hp then mopeds should atleast get +10hpfor teh win
Bringing this back still....http://www.putcosales.com/Putco-LED-360-Premium-Replacement-Bulbs-PRD96.aspxI ordered 1156 in white from here. waiting to arrive
I think everyone will say polini 64 is a fucking awesome beast of a kit and say get it as long as you do your research and learn how to build it right.
quite a few standard style (non reed) kits can even be converted to reed.there are kits with the 2 petals, and also 4 petal kits.does help all around, but if you don't know your engine to begin with, it's just more stuff to mess with when something goes wrong.you can blast with non reed kits too. don't know what you are running now, but that 70cc peoples kit treats sells is a good e
Everyone is different, i have a similar setup running a 97 main on a 19 phbg.Your main concern is to get to wide open throttle and make sure you 4 stroke there. By doing this you will ensure that when ripping at high speeds, you are correctly jetted.then from there use the needle settings ect, to jet the rest of the ranges, so if you are boggy a little before wide open, but wide open is fine you
Same here, did alot of reading and got polini as my first kit.the bad: lots to learnthe good: i learned ALOT of shit. now I'm pretty good all around at messing with e50s.
i use valvoline atf vull synth in my heavily modded e50.i looked on the shelf at auto zone for royal purple once after watching a video on youtube and didn't see it.so far I'm running fine though on the aff synthetic.as for premix. motul only FTW.60:1 on polinishred it hard as shit. no seizes
i have the polini reed block.I put the boyeson dual reeds on it.cut off originals, tapped new hole, screwed them in.then from the inside i cut off the excess bolt sticking out.from there i removed the little bolts and put locktite on them, them em back in the bike.now im ripppppin
yeah that looks totally minor.
still waiting on pictures, also I found 2 side emitting leds that are already 1156. waiting on them to arrive then I'll give a verdict and maybe they'll save more time
there are quite a few variable on the phbg.simple carbs tune with what 2 variables?the phbg has 3 or 4. it can be a hassle
