his bike probably had an overbore kit on it. not legal but i've never heard of anyone getting busted.

http://www.mopedarmy.com/photos/brand/2/2661/ok see this? that's (obviously) a cafe racer front end. my guess is you'd have to get the monza handle bars, which would suck cuz you'd have to rewire everything, as well as make sure the speedo cable diameter is the same on the maxi as it is on the monza, though if yer wanting this i am assuming you're planning on that anyways. also

i dunno about any of the other bikes around but i own a puch cobra. they are rare models but there's parts galore for the standard puch 1spd engine. They are easier to work on than most peds (from what I hear) and they do about 35 stock.http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/discuss/2/21671/21671/

i paid less for mine but i would pay 650 for a cobra in sweet condition. think about it, there's magnums that sell for 1000 bucks, brand new ttlx's for 1600....
