the bullet is a good exhaust from what i hear (not being a tomos rider myself i have to go on hearsay with that) but if you're planning to kit the bike i'd suggest going with an exhaust made by the same company as the kit. also don't forget to rejet your carb and do plug chops regardless of the exhaust you end up going with :) happy riding :)

try the european national ebays for monzas and montanas. they're the 4hp if i am not mistaken.
Josh S — 18 years ago
they come with drums (duh) so i am assuming there'd need to be a new axle or relaced wheel involved, but i dunno anything about this type of mod, any suggestions?

ok so how exactly would a person go about installing disc brakes on a cobra?
Josh S — 18 years ago
it seemed to me that your post was right under mine, i'm sorry for misunderstanding you.

i respect the fact that you have alot of mechanical ability and a big garage to work in but 99 percent of moped owners don't. for bolt on reliability i stick to what i always say about the bi turbo. yes it gives you a boost over stock, but compared to most other comparably priced performance exhausts they're not worth it.
Josh S — 18 years ago
when i bought my cobra it came with a bi turbo, i then bought a leo vinci. at MWH the bi turbo costs 70 bucks even, whereas the leo vinci costs 85. i noticed an extreme improvement all across the board with the leo. don't put words in my mouth man, it annoys me.
Josh S — 18 years ago
i think MWH has the polini kit.
Josh S — 18 years ago
for the polini kit get the polini pipe ;-) stock well i like the leo vinci. don't EVER get the bi turbo. it's flat out not worth the cash when the other MUCH better pipes are almost exactly the same price.

... not to sound like a dick but every possible configuration for the A35 engine has been discussed ad nauseum here and before this forum was created in the general discussion forum. anything you could possibly wanna know is here already, i promise!

i had a bi turbo on my cobra. it does add a bit of accel and top end (though exactly the improvement i dunno, never had the stock pipe to compare it to) but i strongly suggest that if yer going to spend 70 or 80 bucks on a pipe you get a better pipe. personally i like the leo vinci, but they're ALL better than the bi turbo.

kinda makes me wish i had a chain cutter instead of having to go to the lawn mower shop...
Josh S — 18 years ago
for that 18/36 tooth gearing how long was the chain?
Josh S — 18 years ago
luckily my cobra came with a 15mm bing (didn't realize it at the time but i was told about it and looked, and it actually is a 15) so putting the leo on was just a bolt on deal. and lemme tell ya, compared to the bi turbo it's an asskicker!

man i'm really getting tired of people saying "oh that's useless" or "oh why even bother". yanno what, Johann Puch started off as a bicycle builder. I'm sure a shitload of his customers said, oh that motor thing ole Joh's workin will never work, he shouldn't even bother. The ENTIRE bike industry be they mopeds are scoots or big ass hogs owes it's e

Josh S — 18 years ago
isn't the original idea somewhat along the lines of Stihl's new hybrid 2 stroke design?
Josh S — 18 years ago
well you may very well be right on that Tab, I never even knew that gearset existed, but my thinking is, if you can mod it with good results why don ya... ;-)

well let's take it a technical step further... i was told a while ago by donp that old japanese oil injectors worked on a vacuum. so, you have a cylinder of air that is pushed into the injector... so it squirts the mist in, and then a slug of pure air. like the ballast tank on a submarine does to lift the sub out from underwater. only thing i can see being an issue is the pressure. how would
