181. Re: Doppler clutch pulley

Noel Motzing — 10 years ago
Forum: Performance
I want to bump this old thread real quick. I picked up a used clutch pulley here on buy/sell a couple weeks ago and it's history is unknown but i've noticed it has a good amount of play when i push side to side (perpendicularly with belt, drive direction) on the pulley. I never disassembled it but looked through it and greased the bearing before installation and none of the bearings look

such a great time! thanks to all the summerai for putting on a world class rally. getting 25 people 200 miles safely while having fun is not easy and they made it look effortless. come to milwaukee in two weeks and you all can sleep in my room for winning the party.

If the lazer 5 went 100mph i still wouldn't care. i'd be impressed if it was 50cc and all but it still looks like a generic harbor freight piece of garbage. that thing is gonna get grief on this website for the same reason people with new tomos' get a lot of grief; most of us share a unique and common experience of taking an antiquated, forgotten and marginalized toy from the 70

i'm about 2000 miles away but i always thought cali prices would be higher than that. a good looking and running moby in milwaukee will sell for 450-550. people will list bikes for 800 but they won't sell, it takes someone with the stones to go offer them the 500 their worth

I totally understand not wanting to mess with a good look. you sweeds are very image conscious, maybe you could wrap it in an h&m scarf?? just kidding.A boss would be just about the worst pipe you could get, but will be much better than what is going on right now and have the understated dimensions to not look like a dutch tuner. You could mess around with trying to patina it. or, cut that sto

i would have to say there are some washers missing in that setup. there is no way it is designed to have that much lateral play along the crankshaft.

hands down the most fun i've had on a moped. its so intimate. there won't be anyone there with a tomos they think is fast asking you if you want to take it for a spin. just dirty mopeds getting pounded on country two-laners for miles and miles.

I would be interested in leaving friday, that sucked two years ago only being able to spend lunch at the tip and not able to really enjoy it because of the crippling rum-hangover. Last year the timing was terrible for me after just moving to milwaukee and trashing my only running bike at that time in chicago. I think there is some good buzz here for it so should be a great one!

get a boss pipe, cut the header off and hose clamp it on to the long stock header. when you have more than one speeds, i bet a boss would do wonders for power in the top third of your rev range. would also not garishly aftermarket

204. Re: Large carb choking out 2-petal reeds?

Noel Motzing — 10 years ago
Forum: Performance
its been running the polini yellow material which seem pretty flimsy. as a matter of fact ive broken two sets in the past month and am making the 4-petal jump because mostly i'm sick of having to drop the motor and replace those suckers. ive tried the really thick red ones and they would let the bike idle but at any amount of throttle would die. seemed way too thick.

205. Re: Large carb choking out 2-petal reeds?

Noel Motzing — 10 years ago
Forum: Performance
How does that formula take into account the total area of the total reeds being open? Are you supposed to combine all the reed lengths or does it not matter. Oh well. It makes sense that 16 would be the upper limit for those flat reeds but at one time I also thought 16 was as large as you could use on a 50cc and you know the racers run 24s so it's all magnets. Guess just have to try it and se

206. Large carb choking out 2-petal reeds?

Noel Motzing — 11 years ago
Forum: Performance
i've always had bad full throttle power on my airsal peugeot and am thinking, for no other reason than ive messed with every other component with no improved results, that the 20 phbg is too much carb for the regular 2-petal reeds.does anyone know science if this is true or not? i'll settle for personal testimonial too.
