I picked up a Peugeot with a 103 on it.It has a 50cc Cylinder kit on it the previous owner put on.He could not remember the brand of the kit, and it is not marked with a name.It does have "CP" stamped on one side, "49" on the other. The cylinder has a third port on the top.Any ideas what this might be?I'll post pictures later if no ones knows.

did the puch pipe mount up ok, or where there a lot of mods involved?
Jeff — 14 years ago
THAT'S AWESOME!I was actually talking today about cutting it in half and having it welded to a 15mm puch intake or something. That is definitly the direction in which I am headed though.

50cc.nl has 2 sim pipes for moby. the other is called the sim custom2. anyone know anything about it?!http://www.50cc.eu/plaatjes-onderd/19189.jpg!

Are there any moby performance exhausts that are small enough that they don't interfere with the pedals? In PA we need to have operational pedals, otherwise we need to register our mopeds as motorcycles. Boo!

hmm...don't you do timing by degrees not mm? How do you know that your plug is firing 2 mm before top dead center?

Eric,For those of us who don't already have the fast cylinder, do you know the final dimensions of the ports in this diagram?!http://www.mopedarmy.com/mediawiki/images/2/2d/Motobecanecylinderport.jpg!

I have a lot of questions...sorry for the barrage. Is there a French web-site you get the replacement bearings from, or just ebay? Are they stronger than the stock bearings? Also do you have a part number?

I know that my wife's Proma Circuit provides both very nice torque and low end on her Grande...but it's kitted with a malossi variator and performance gears in the rear tire hub...so it's hard to tell what will happen on a stock bike.

Could someone explain to me, meaning on the level of a fourth grader, what is meant by a "clutch function?" I see that some of these variators offer it and some don't? what's the best?

Hey Ryan,Did you ever get that simonini crank case part? If so, how did things work out?

Is there any place to get a larger than stock Kreidler intake? If not, is there something I can rig up to make work?
Jefe — 15 years ago
So, has anyone done this/used "this":http://www.cycle-tech.com/10309.htm part before?
Jefe — 15 years ago
So that half of the case will mount onto the original stock counterpart?
Jefe — 15 years ago
I think Motion Left Mopeds has an intake that willl fit so that you can put an even bigger Del Orto on thier...also, You can put a bafle from a two piece performance exhaust pipe on the original exhaust header for the Batavus.

My guess is that the 13mm carb would be set to idle, and the 19.19 would be fixed with the throttle slide too far down to allow much fuel to get through.I think there would have to be two throttle cables.
Jefe — 15 years ago
What does "stage the opening mean?"
Jefe — 15 years ago
I saw a Vespa Bravo engine on eBay Italy a while ago that had a second intake machined onto the crankcase near the front where the cylinder attaches. The engine then had a 19.19 in the front and the 13.13 in the back.Would this actually work? Has anyone tried it before?

Is there a tansmission fluid that works better than others? The kind I have in now is Type F, but I don't know if there is higher quality stuff or not.

I've seen EBR's around, and I think they look cool...but I have to ask; is there any real bennefit from having this things over your orignial forks as long as the shocks work ok?

xmopedracer, i was wondering, can you tell me where I might find a book that "explains in detail how the pipe works and what does what." I'm interested in trying to make my own pipe, but I don't even know where to begin. Thanks

Just to update, I got it off with and impact wrench...

does anyone know how to take the variator off of a Variant America. It doesn't work in conjunction with the piston, like most bikes I've seen, so stopping the piston does not stop the variator from spinning.
Jeff — 16 years ago
would it be better to drill holes or just grind down the clutch housing?
Jeff — 16 years ago
everything performance has come from 50cc...I've looked elsewhere with no luck.Rob, the intake restrictor, if it is on your Diablo, will pull right out of the intake with no problem, you dont even have to take the intake off.I made a post asking about MK carbs for Variant, anyone with any info; it would be greatly appreciated.
Jeff — 16 years ago
I have a Derbi Variant America and I saw that 50cc has a 16mm MK carb with intake that go with the Variant Start. I wrote 50cc and they said they could make the carb a lever type choke, instead of a cable, so the real question is...will the intake to a flat reed engine work on one with a pyramid shaped reed valve? Also, has anyone used a MK carb? How are they, and are there different jet sizes av
