i got bearings for my 103, and when they arrived the alphanumeric designation on them ended with tvh-c3. it's not the plastic seal, it's a plastic retainer ring that holds the ball bearings in place...usually these retainers are metal in my experience.has anyone used on of these in an engine? did you encounter any issues?i'm concerned that the plastic will not hold up to the gasoli

has anyone ever removed/replaced the needle bearings in a doppler fixed pulley (peugeot)? wondering about the part number/size of the bearing.
Jeff — 13 years ago
ok....so, for the record books...it fits with funnel up and you have to push back the engine to get it on. there is a bout .5mm clearance. it doesn't look like it will fit, but it will.

can someone post a pic or describe to me how they positioned their malossi e8 airfilter on their Peugeot 103 with a PHBG...please?

oh yeah, one more thing...the dude also said that because of modern materials used in production of most pistons, rings, etc...you no longer need to worry so much about a meticulous break in routine. The guy claims that aiming a fan at your engine with the bike on it's stand, you start it up, and vary the throttle until the cylinder is hot (but not smoking hot, just hot). Do it three times,

oops...contrary to popular belief, it is a bad idea to use more oil during break in.Here's why. If you add more oil to your mix you are decreasing the amount of combustable fuel in the fuel air ration, and can actually lean out your cylinder by using too much oil.I never thought of it, but it makes perfect sense.
Jeff — 14 years ago
I was recently talking with some guys at a local motorcycle shop about which oils are best for break in. they said that you can break in on any petroleum based oil is usually good, but you need to use synthetic oils that are specifically rated for break in.So, I called Maxima's technician line and spoke with an engineer to see if their Bio 2T is rated for break in.He said that he recommends

Jeff — 14 years ago
I really like my stock TSM exhaust, and don't want to change it. Does anyone know a way to mod them?I was thinking that there might be a plate to take out or swiss-cheese like in the smaller 103 exhausts.Does anyone know what these things look like inside? Thanks!!
