Bob, do you have the small O ring and brass washer in place for the throttle speed screw? The service manual doesn’t show them but an exploded diagram does. I’d be Leary of the super cheap clone carbs…Too good to be true for $30-40. A lot of them have the mounting flange cocked so there’s no way to mount them. The one advertised by the zoom zoom group doesn’t have a photo from that vantage poi

I saw you’re from Muskegon, I buy a lot of stuff from Babbitts superstore located there. I wish I was closer and could save on shipping and wait times.

I too am rehabbing an FA50. I made my own air filter housing from a small thrift store cookie tin, spaghetti strainer and sponge. I tend to over engineer things.. I used drinking fountain and bar sink drain basins to pass air from back to front then thru filter media, then back out the rear again. A little steel angle bracket and you can use the original housing mount hole support it to the ge

I’m no expert, that carb has been stuck in my head for 2 weeks. Keeping me up at night. I too have a boggy fa50. I trash picked it 10 years ago. Just recently started putting it back together. I’m in $300. already. I came to the site looking for info.I’m surprised nobody talks about the jets on these. The parts drawings and shop manual show a hex looking end on the main jet. The manual say

There’s 3 disassembled mikuini vm12 carbs for sale on eBay right now. They all have an O ring on the Choke tower. Just because it isn’t listed doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. It’s simply a part of a part!

Yes, there should be an O ring on the choke plunger, the one in your picture tools too big. I purchased and installed a Keyster rebuild kit last a few weeks ago. That ring was included in the kit.

There’s a level screw. If you remove it and nothing drips out, add more.

I think your oil tank is leaking under the seat. Oil will collect under the tank, soak the rectifier area and drip thru the inside of the frame and out a hole where the two sides of the frame are welded together.Mine did.

I just went through that on my scooter project last week. The top port on the tank is the regular, the bottom is the reserve. On the back of the petcock, reserve is marked the other would be regular.Engine vacuum keeps the “on” port open to provide fuel to flow from regular to the outlet. During prime fuel flows from reserve line to outlet without vacuum. it is in the manual there’s a picture of

I saw your inquiry for an ignition switch. I just replaced the one on my 1980 FA.As you know they’re obsolete.I purchased a key switch for a Suzuki DR125I believe the part was 737420 and made it work. The only differences are:1-is the plug is male instead of female and 1 of the 6 wires are a different color. If you have a dead switch, use the connector plug from it and butt splice it together.
