Hitting 9k rpm ain't bad. Like others have said. Techo boss is bad. Get a better pipe. Better air filter and run a 17 front sprocket.Low 40s with 17 front. You likely need some clutch work if your low end suffers too much. Welcome to 1 speed moped life.

When it comes to pipes do yourself a favor and just buy a crank pipe. Future you will thank yourself. Cuz you gonna end up buying like 3 pipes before you finally just suck it up and buy a crank pipe anyway.

Vm20 can def lead you a stray. Finiky at time with the needle,idle,main,slide etc . It'll run with pretty much and combo and you'll think it's dialed when it's not. Vm18 is a much more forgiving mikuni carb to tune. Dellorto carbs definitely act a fool if you aren't tuned.

How do plug chops look?Try less timing. I run my HPI puch at 1.2I was having weird heat issues at one point and found the vm20 slide cap thingy gasket was leaking bad. One spray from carb cleaner and the bike died. Replaced with an appropriate size oring.Good luck. Try one thing at a time.
I've had no issues with stock crank on a kit and I've had one spin the brass bushing and seize. As previous poster eluded too. Keep ur revs down and you're more likely to get more miles out of the stock crank. My 2 cents, upgrade yo crank.

If you're not happy with the high stall with the weakest springs jammer might not be for you. Consider the stock clutch with some blues springs around 20-25# of tensionAnd what others have said. That front facing carb with no air filter is gonna suck in all sorts of road crud.
