Hello,I'm posting here because my FA50 was stolen, and I can imagine someone trying to sell it. If you see a moped for sale looking like the attached pictures, I'd love your help recovering it. It was taken from the street by my apartment in the Outer Sunset, and has been spotted (by Sir Yancellot) on Stanyon by St. Mary's Medical Center.Thank you!
Yancy nailed it - that was 100% my moped. (Again, I'm an idiot for not having it registered and it was totally easy to take.)But Yancy spotted it and messaged me. It was on Stanyan between Fulton and Hayes. Gave my number to two guys living out of a car offering a reward if they spot it again. I drove around for a long time looking for it but it was gone.I think Yancy was also driving around
Thank you for your thoughts, feeling glad to get your responses. My thought was someone might have grabbed it to go joyriding and that it could show up dumped somewhere. I'm watching for it in the avenues. I'm an idiot and don't have a record of any identifying numbers, as it was unregistered.I've got a service request placed with Dept. of Public Works - it was parked in front
I woke up today and my FA50 was gone. Has anyone ever had any luck recovering a moped? I put in a call to the Dept. of Public Works (to be honest it looks like garbage, haha.) Could it turn up on craigslist for sale? It's hard to imagine anyone wanting to steal it - I had the seat cushion inside overnight and there's no headlight. I had really gotten attached to it, riding it to work and
That's the conclusion I'm coming to, and basically addresses my real question - is it worth spending any money on this thing? It runs fine, so I'll probably leave it as is. The missing parts are just nagging at me : )I'm still wondering if anyone call tell me something about what's powering the high beam indicator light, though. Thanks DPC Ryan
I have an FA50 that runs pretty well, but it's completely stripped down. There is no battery, no ignition, and no headlight or brake light units. My question is about getting a battery. If the ignition coil has been disconnected or removed, I understand the headlight will not work even with a battery. If I get a battery, could I get a tail light and rear turn signals to work?Another thing that
Thank you for the tips! The kill switch is on, and I'm holding the rear brake lever.I took the cap off the spark plug. I didn't remove it but it looks shiny and new. I guess the next step is to check out the wiring, like you suggest. Thanks again.
Hello,Love all the great information on these forums.A couple months ago I got a 1983 Suzuki Shuttle. I'm new to mopeds AND repair, just wanted to say that up front. The moped started fine and ran ok for a couple months. I had two new tires put on, and between putting them on and getting the wheels back on, I let it sit for a month or more. Now there is no spark when I try to start it.I thought
