After re-assembling and re-installing the original carb and intake back into my LB80 I found this small plastic part left over in a zip-lock bag. Does anyone recognize it? It could be part of a 73 CT3 or a qt50.
I picked up this bike four weeks ago with a broken throttle cable and a seized front brake cable. This is what it looks like now:
Unfortunately, yes. And sometimes not even an impact driver by itself can help.Using a compatible JIS bit will help.
Man boob, also known as gynecomastia, can be caused by Finasteride which is used for the treatment of enlarged prostates (Proscar) and hair-loss (Propecia). It's probably why president shit-bag has floppy tits.
Thanks Jack. I should have mentioned you in the first post, your help was integral to my success! The last iteration is 20 idle, 162.5 main, needle is on second richest setting. I think the top speed might have been better at 165. It took a while to get a good idle jet/needle setting to get rid of a stumble at mid throttle.

Just wanted to thank everybody for the encouragement and help over the past year. Here is my baby as she looks todayIncludes the usual upgrades:malossi 70cc kit,Treat's high compression headVM20MLM Intake and Next level PipePlastic skull - courtesy of my brother-in-law.Lots of new parts from the local Yamaha dealer and just as many new-old-stock parts of off ebay.

This popped up on my local creegslist and I'm curious what the army thinks is a good starting offer. Asking price is $700 in Frederick MD. It doesn't run, and there is no title.
I have a new-old-stock speedometer gear, if you would like to borrow it.
I bought a pair of these. They're so much nicer than the 3d printed ones that I bought from Shapeways.
I bought the same Innova tester (3612) from amazon. It said my compression was slightly under 90, but the ped started and ran fine so I didn't trust it.To confirm my suspicion that it was junk, i bought this one which indicated 110 psi. which made more sense.Mityvac 5530:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002WSC0G/

From a distance, say at least 20 feet, it looks pretty good. Up close it looks like poopies.
I might have dreamt this but I recall seeing Julia Childs (writer and tv chef) saying that oil keeps the flavor of the tuna intact whereas water will leach it out.By choice, I ate tuna sandwiches every day for school in the first grade; I couldn't eat tuna for ten years after that.
Right after getting ready to drill, my brother-in-law suggested I try some thick 1/4''-1/2'' nylon washers to push out the bracket so that it would bring the holes closer to proper alignment. The washers did help, but I had to apply moderate pressure on the pipe while screwing in the bolts. Not sure if this is a long term solution.
The mlm pipe fit tolerably well on the stock cylinder and the stock exhaust fits fine on the malossi cylinder. When the mlm pipe is installed on the malossi, the mounting bracket holes are half inch away from the mounting holes on the engine. What can I do? Bend the pipe? This project never f'n ends.
This is what it looked like after some break-in miles.
I did not, I plead ignorance.
I appreciate the feedback. This was my first foray into engine rebuilding and carb tuning. I read as much as I could find in regards to the qt50. I'll try to find a book about 2 strokes in general before trying again.
I did remove the oil pump a month ago and have been just running on premix.
