Hey, what's up, everybody! Just last year, I registered my moped and began using it on the street. just the other day I received the registration renewal and what do you know but insurance information is required. I live in PA and so started calling insurance companies to figure out what it would cost and most of them don't understand what a moped is or how it is insured and they give me

Hey guys! I been thinking about getting another moped. I want a top tank with A minarelli v1 with plans to kit etc. There are three peds that seem to fit the bill, Pacer Super Sport, General Five Star, and Safari mopeds. I know there are also some others because minarelli put there motors on a lot of peds but basically what I want to know is which of those is the nicest and why. Ok so maybe thats

Hey there! Lately Ive been thinking about building a new moped and was thinking about out of the box ideas. this one got me interested. one of the key characteristics of the modern sport bikes like the ducati monster is a bright trellis frame. I kinda like that and was thinking about building a maxi like frame trellis style. a cylinderical gas tank would be located inside the trellis where most ma

From the top, The first two pipes look to me like stock vespa exhausts. the box has two crankshafts in it for XXXX moped moped engine. the thang that looks like an "A" appears to be a behind-the-seat-rack for ???? moped.Hope that helps... I'm human so all that could be wrong ;)

Hey! Thanks Neil for the offer! Might take you up sometime but for now I'll keep truck'n.So You asked fro it and here it is. the results of the compression test. at wot turning over with a drill, I'm getting about 125 psi of compression according to my gauge. its a cheap gauge, so you can take the measurements for what their worth. For comparison, i tested my 66cc engine and got rig

Ok! I think i'll just leave it. might eventually do rings and a cylinder hone, but for now its gonna stay as is. I did order a compression tester anyway. just curious. its not an super expensive tool or anything and will maybe be useful in the future.I've been thinking about it and it seems like since it went right around 25-30 bone stock, this leak probably isn't a problem since th

Hey there! I decided to do a rebuild on my pug motor to put on new gaskets, remove the exhaust port lip, new intake manifold, and new Athena reeds. it ran great but when i got it dismantled and the exhaust taken off, there was some kind of leaking past the rings. through the exhaust port i can see the air bubbling in oil when i turn the engine over. like I said it runs great so maybe this "le

Sweet! that looks great! great way to do it without the petcock and exspensive stuff :)my tank is progressing well. sealed it with JB weld and am currently bondoing it. I will hopefully get a chance to post some more pics soon...

Ok so I have a Peugeot 103 (not a motobecane) but there are allot of similarities. You probabaly don't have to worry about the decomp. unless your hearing an occasional wheezy backfire noise when you turn the engine over. the decomp. just lets the pressure escape the cylinder to make it easier to turn over. if its running right, there will be detonation and you will hear that noise. your curr

Yep! I want to get her runnin great before I upgrade it, but It just needed that bigger carb. It had a dellorto SHA 14.9 on it. <<<<SLOW>>>> The bigger carb fixed that :-)As for the tank, it is a little rusty but not to bad to use. I have an inline filter with a magnet on it right now which should deal with any particles that might decide to come floatin. Also, I designed

Ok so I mentioned this moped in a previous post and promised some pictures of it. Here they are. Its A Moto Guzzi Robin. Not sure what year it is. I bought it for fifty bucks cash. I got it home and checked for spark and there wasn't any. Bummer. Went ahead and checked all the wiring, grounds, etc. still no spark. ordered new points, condenser, and a flywheel puller for $30. AND, let there be

Looks good! I thought about doing that and then adding an inline fuel shutoff, but I didn't have one of those and I did have a petcock soooo...Will post more picture soon.

Ok so I got to the hardware store yesterday and bought a nut that matches the petcock's threads. I liked the idea of the JEGS weld in fitting thingy, but unfortunately they don't have one that matched my threads. will weld that in and then update yins.

A couple of years ago I bought one of these. Its an MTD trailflite. Cost me 200$. The picture isn't mine, unfortunately, I lost the pictures after I sold it. the suspension was awesome. I spent allot of time and totally restored and repainted mine. the top speed I ever got on mine was 30 mph. Kinda wish I still had it...

So I need to go to the hardware store to get a nut or pipe or somethin that has threads that match my petcock that I can weld into the bottom of da tank. once I get that thingy welded in, Im gonna use super low air pressure from maybe an old inner tube or somethin to check for leaks. hopefully there won't be many and I kin get away with not lining the tank with anythin. once all dats dun, I
Caleb Walker — 3 years ago
Yeah I plan to weld it completely shut and then cut a hole and install a threaded pipe thingy for the petcock. at that point i will hook it to the air compressor and make sure the joints are all sealed up tight.
