Thanks for all the info! Will check into these possibilities...
Spark is good, just tested it. Unlike before, the engine makes low and loud noise. Paddle is harder to step now....
Yes, spark is new. I just pulled it out and looked at, seems to be a good shape with no dirty stuff on it. I also checked the fuel line and unattached the carburetor. I didn’t see anything wrong or leaking visually. Remounted the cab and reattached the fuel line... And still the same, when paddled, engine makes low roaring sound. When I stopped paddling, it stopped :(
Update: when I paddled, the engine makes low roaring sound... Light is on. But the moment I release the throttle, it’s dead :(
After the new carburetor was installed successfully yesterday, everything was running great and smooth. This morning I was trying to get it running again. When I put the carburetor on the “choke” for the start, I heard a short burst sound beneath possibly from the engine. From that point, I could feel the crank shift is slow and heavy. And I can’t get it run no matter how hard I try. I wonder if m
Thanks for all the advice, she is alive and kicking again!
After reading some helpful advice, I’m in the process of strip-down my moped and planning to wash the tank, change the petcock, oil filter and install the new carburetor. Today, I almost stripped the screws for the carburetor mount. Now I want to order new screws. But I couldn’t find any info regarding this type of screw on Internet. Can anyone kindly forward me the correct size or serial number o
Lol! Damn, auto spelling correction...lol
Starting with throttle delays, I have the impression thinking carburetor needs to be clean again, even though it was installed brand new last year. With minimum riding and currently over 2k + miles, I received a diagnosis indicated the compression is low. It needs top end with cylinder and pistol change. Asking $500+ And it is not cheap for a moped owner. I guess my question is with low mileage an
My 1978 Honda Hobbit ran well after tune up (new carburetor) 2years ago. Then this happens, when moped made a complete stop at traffic lights waiting, as the green light on, I pushed the throttle but it is very slow to respond with 2-3 sec delay. Lately it just shuts off when I tried to throttle the way. In between the traffic lights on the road, it runs very well, engine is powerful. Any advice o
You guys the BEST! Assuming adding “8” oz stabilizer should be enough?THANKS!
I’m about to put my Honda hobbit into hibernation for the season. I appreciate if anyone could share some advices... Here is my plan,1) suck the gas out of tank2) let the engine running out of remaining gas3) I’ve been told it is better to release gas from carburetor through drain screw. If so, can anyone kindly show me / take a picture where drain screw is? I have some ideas where it is, but unsu
Does anyone ever use Seafoam to clean your moped’s carburetor? Is it effective? Anything to be careful about? This link makes cleaning too good to be true...https://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/How_to_Remove_Carbon_from_your_Engine_with_Seafoam
