@dillion if that is the case, what would i look for? If i drain the tranny juice should there be less, a certain color i should look for?@mike i bought the 1# grandpa 15mm intake and put the jammer pipe on. It was running well with the 82 jet. I have the 69 jet in there now and it had better power in the 12 to 22mph range before the plugs fouled. Was starting on the first kick too
So my e50 1.5 hp engine was running all fine and dandy and doing 35 on level ground. It started misfiring/backfiring after long rides.The engine was running perfectly for a 1.5 hp engine. I suspect someone in the past had tried to convert it to a 2hp because after doing a significant amount of research about those engines and finding the guide on how to make it a 2 hp. The stock pipe had two holes

Fuck that. My Honda was the worst moped I ever owned. Rode it home and stared at it for 2 months. Finally got it going and the tranny exploded. Waste of 1000 dollars.There's just something stupid im overlooking bc of my stress level. Need a second set of eyes.

Recently decided to swap my 77 engine onto my 79 newport. Swapped the electrics bc the 77 has 5 wires off the ignition and the 79's system has 6.Now, I took pictures of the connector (only 10 spots not 12) and I hooked it up exactly the same as it was before. The spark plug would shock me but not fire.I decided to check the wiring diagram on the wiki, re adjusted the wires on the connectors.
Its definately not reaching. Ill have to break out the pliers

Was riding, speedo was working. Noticed it wasnt working, the line was loose but not disconnected. Screwed it back on but my speedo still isnt working. Is there some special procedure im missing?
What size sprocket should i get? Any suggested ratios?
Okay so ive done so more research. Im definately fourstroking at 16-20. This with a combo of the bad sprocket explains all my problems.
Would bad engine bearings cause the moped to mis/backfire at around twenty? Also my friend thought it was a blocked exhaust, so he took it off, it went over 20mph, did 31. But as soon as it hit 20 the exhaust noise went from deafening to almost normal.
Its just the sprocket thats moving, not the shaft, how do i go about replacing the sprocket?
I can provide a running video, but all it will show is the chain whipping about, resulting in it dragging on the pedal posts, running guards and airbox when they are in place
I noticed my chain was pretty loose and my 77 e50 maxi completely down on power. Took off the air box and revved the engine and the drive sprocket is wobbling all over the place. Where do i start?
now its idling like a champ, but after a 1/3 turn off throttle it dies
@ pacer racer, it runs 100% until it dies. good acceleration right up to 29mph.@don ohio, i run it with the cap loose so it ventsidk if this helps, but the plastic covering the autochoke and the carb lines is bending away from the air intake that it clips into.
my express is starting a little smokey at first, a little coaxing is needed. it will run for like 10-15 mins at a time, if i shut it off after those 10 -15 minutes it will start and i get another 10 -15 mins. it seems as soon as it is getting warm it acts like its not getting any gas and refuses to start. also, without adjusting any of the adjuster screws on the carb, it seems to run differently e
