A few years ago I did a niche 60cc kit on my qt50. It was a screaming deal and shipped very fast as it came from within canada. It was my very first time doing a big bore install and I had some issues with tuning etc and leaned it out a few times and I dont think I broke it in properly. It ended up losing compression on me and the bike has been sitting for a year or so.I wanna get it back on the ro
Figured as much thanks though
Very sorry just saw this now been very busy moving and a bunch of stuff In my life.Where do you live? As long as I am able to get it registered up here in bc I am happy
Hey jak forgot to reply, but switching to a bigger jet fixed the problem, I think I ended up running a 75.The bike actually runs fine without mix but the problem actually has something to do with when I take the bike down a super steep hill and get it up over around 75 km/h or so and the bike starts to get a bit too hot from friction. I think it has to do with the leaky seals in my oil pump and be
Thank you I found them and theyr a little picky about shipping to Canada but seem to do it.My only question is do I need the small round or large round for the stock carb? Im guessing small round?
I found a site that seems to have lots of jets im going to try ordering an 80 82.5 and 85 from but thank you.Yeah the plug was fouled, I ran some seafoam through it, it seems for whatever reason with the 70 jet no amount of oil would make the bike run bad, as soon as I put the 75 in it was apparant it had too much oil.
hey sorry accidetly replied to the guy under you, see that post for more info but you were right, I tuned the carb last summer and forgot i went back from a 75 full lean to a 70 full rich, the bike now has a 75 full rich until I get a bigger jet, seems it was overheating from running lean and adding more oil just helped prevent it from seizing i guess
Hey Jack you were right, i reembered wrong, the bike was running a 70 jet with the needle set full rich, the problem was due to the bike running lean, I put my 75 jet in with the needle still full rich, bike hiccuped here and there but as I ran more and more of the mixed gas out and replaced it with straight gas the its runnning great now. Will have to get a bigger jet in soon.Seems adding oil was
Hello thank you for your response!Im thinking the bike overheated from running lean/not mixed right my oil pump does have bad seals and they seep into the carb so maybe that is changing things a bitThe bike has been running totally fine otherwise except for a similar incident where the bike died on me after going up a hill wound out for quite a while down a backroad that I always hit over and ove
Looking to build another QT50 for fun but dont want to go through the trouble of going through the effort to get papers without the old registered owner in Canada again. Will consider anything from a bare frame with papers to a project bike. depends on how close you are to me and shipping options.Have cash in hand for the right bike at the right price.
Is there any reason why people dont like these pumps? Is it just because on a modified bike its too hard to tune it and easier to just run mix? I guess on these bikes most of the time youre running at full throttle or close to it so you're not too worried about the mixture being rich at low rpm.Is there any drawback to running the pump and just adding a bit of oil to the tank? I just dont wan
Also check your needle adjustment, its just as important as the jet and sometimes people fiddle with it. I found on my QT50 it ran great (in the summer) with the bigger 75 jet but the needle set very lean. Sometimes people set the needle rich and when you install a bigger jet it bogs out.
Hi guys last spring I became the owner of an 81 QT50 which I did a lot of work to and not only got running but it ended up being basically my only transportation for almost the whole summer, riding it about half an hour each way to work and back in the bike lane. I did a bit of modifications to it and stopped riding it when the bike broke down due to a failure in the drive pinion bearings due to a
Yes! Thank you if those guys won't ship to Canada the part numbers and listing numbers are the same thank youBTW do you know what tool I need to remove the big hex screw that holds the pinion in place
Hey man thanks for the help, I got the bike apart and the bearings, space, and clip he shows in that video are nowhere to be found. I found some bearing pieces, bbs, and rusty junk, my only guess is someone put it back together but forgot the spacer or something cause I dont know where it would have went.I usually order from boats.net but their drive shaft section doesnt have an exploded diagram,
Hey you sent the wrong video but the other video on his channel should be a good start thank you!
Must have missed it was on my phone at work will check it again when I get home
Thank you but this video just covered greasing the ring and pinion I need to disassemble the whole shaft drive system I thinkAlso I can't find a shaft drive assembly for a qt50 in stock but I found a pw50 for sale are they exactly the same or are there differences ?
Hello some of you guys may remember me saving a Qt50 from the dead last spring. When my car broke down I rode it 35 40 minutes to work each way all summer without major issue. At the end of summer after putting a deposit on a car to use when the weather got worse I took the bike up to the store after not riding it for a few days due to a flat back tire I also did the back brakes at the sMe time as
I love this little bike and right now its my only transportation cause I gotta pull the engine and rebuild it in my 73 olds
I'm just wondering since the bubble will be in the feed line that's gravity fed will I have to bleed the pump until its completyely empty and filled again to get that bubble out or will I just float up the line into the tank and be harmless or what?
I just wasn't sure of the location of the plug for the magneto turns out its in plain sight on top of the engine and I'm just an idiot
I have a brand new pump as well as a rebuild kit been meaning to put it in I've heard the lube pumps on qt50s are actually quite reliable
I'm just unsure about 1 unhooking the magneto wire and 2 when I take the inlet off the oil pump and plug it won't I have to bleed the pump after because of air in the circuit or does it not matter so much on the inlet and how do I bleed the pump exactly
Hey guys got a QT50 I saved from the grave here that is now my daily transportation since my car blew up. Wondering since I now have more air going in and coming out is it worth tryingf my 75 jet out on the carb? Right now I have a stock 70 and the needle in the middle I actually moved it back as one of the pos set the needle 1 notch richer but the bike would 4 stroke easy around top speed. Wonde
How far from vancouver canada are you?
