What happened? Did it work? Are you still alive???
Thanks PD for the link. Cheeky and informative. I’m glad I read it because some of the tubeless principles for motorcycles run counterintuitive to some of the reasons for going tubeless on bicycles. Neither the tires nor the rims I am considering have safety beads. Seems like it would work but I am torn on whether or not to try this on a running moped. I would not like the tire to fall into the
I just installed some tubeless valve stems on some snowflake mags and got someShinko knobbies to bead up no problem with a compressor. They are holding air.I realize that the bead is likely a wire Bead on these shinkos, which can stretch. (As opposed to a folding or carbon fiber bead that comes with tubeless tires.). The seal seems solid... the Schrader valve stems accommodate holes 7.5-8.5mm an
Thanks Rocco, and all else who chimed in, I will try using a drill with the timing light to check it, and check that the piston was installed properly. Hah Is the arrow visible through the spark plug hole? That would be too easy
Ok so I triple checked that I’m setting up the flywheel with timing BTDC and not after, even visually verified that the flywheel is spinning clockwise...also downjetted the idle jet to 17.5 and even tried 15...I haven’t posted about this bike yet, just finished it been working here and therefor a year or so.
Just eyeballing the points opening, I know that’s not the most accurate, I would put my timing light on it if i could get it to start!
My first time with a mikuni carb, first pinto, multiple builds on maxis with the same stuff except the pipe and the carb. Have used bing 15mm on my other builds. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
Hmm I will check that but I remember looking at the arrow and double checking that upon assembly. I just thought about the side bleed estriol. Should I fuck with that?
New VM18 with foam filter. Treats 70cc piston port kit with hi hi head. New seals. New crank. Treats internal coil magneto. Stock clutch with super stiffy springs. Nice blue spark. I played with the timing and point gap for a while, it won’t fire. I tried a smaller idle jet and main jet (I live at 9,600’). It backfired a couple times while pedaling to try to start it. It feels like it should f
awesome, thanks for all the info, i will try it to run brake lights off the treats stator and then reply here, and also try to think a little bigger
Is there a way to wire a maxi, with brake lights, with the stator that has the internal coil? I understand that black goes to kill switch and yellow goes to lights; does anyone have a wiring diagram though?
I can see what I think is a # 3 on the back of the cylinder. So it's a 38mm cylinder that needs a 37.97mm piston? The piston I put in is .03 mm too big? Horseshoes and hand grenades?
Heh, fuck yes! My post was naive enough to elicit a condescending response from Ken! Thanks man, I wasn't really sure about that when I looked at the engine puch spec sheet on myrons dot com. Roast the shit out of me I'm a noob! This type of info is what I came here for.I see that the low torque engine had 5 sizes...I used the 38 mm with the 1.5 mm rings. I will check the number on th
Also had a question about timing...it's at 17 degrees BTDC. Does the new exhaust and carb/intake require adjustment? Thanks to anyone that can give me a response/explanation/education!
The tecno delivered better acceleration immediately, I amHoping to have good low end acceleration without sacrificing too much on the top. I need to be able to climb hills really well, I wanted to mention that. Got the ESO springs cause they seemed like the new hot shit
I have twin '77 puch maxis that I rebuilt with new treats stuffed crank, bearings and seals. I also honed the cylinders and replaced with new stock 50cc pistons, rings. I didn't quite know enough yet to get a new hi comp cylinder & head kit. Maybe later...I installed clone 15mm bings with the cheap 15 mm intake. There is a techno circuit exhaust on one and a proma circuit exhaust on
copy that. I will chase the fuel line from the pet cock to check for obstructions. I recently separately acquired these twin red e50 '77 maxis about 60 serial numbers off and I'm stoked learn and to get them running stock. I cleaned the carb and fired up the barn find with a rusty tank before I knew any better. Dang. Now the one that was running is having issues. I think I probab
I am a noob. I just installed a new throttle cable on my '77 Maxi because the old one was super slack and the barrel adjuster was missing on the bendy. It was running fine as i bought it, but I couldn't tighten the cable cause it was trashed. The carb isn't sealed up yet, not sure if i need to rejet at this altitude? (10,000') Now the bike will run fine for a minute, then it
