I have an 83 Honda Urban Express NU50. I'm going to be putting a MLM sidebleed pipe on it. Will I need to recalibrate the carburetor after the install?
There is a Madass forum "MadassArmy", but there has been any activity in more than a year.
Thanks, everyone. Sounds like there isn't a dealer anywhere in the U.S.
Does anyone out there know if you can purchase the Sachs MadAss in the U.S.? I can't seem to find any dealers.
I weigh 175. The rear is a problem as well, but I feel like that is an easy fix...unless you tell me I'm wrong about that. Do you have a lot of experience with the Honda Urban Express? I'm just learning about this bike.
Thanks for the reply. Is it possible to replace the springs with a stiffer version?
Sweet bike! How do you cut the forks?
I have a 1983 Honda Urban Express. The front shocks are very soft. They bottom out very easily. Anyone know how to fix this, or is this just what they are? Is there fork oil to change, or can I get new springs? Anyone?
Anyone out there know anything about this Honda Urban Express (see photos)? Who the owner is? I saw the photograph on Treats. I’m interested in the back fender, where it came from or how it was manufactured. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
I have an 83 Honda Urban Express and I'm looking to upgrade the tires. I would like something wider, just because I like the look. Does anyone know what is available without having to do any modifications? I found some Shinko SR241, 16x3 front and 14x2.75 back. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks for the help.
Yes, I am aware of this. It's a trade-off I'm willing to make. Is it a significant loss? More than 5mph would you say? I'm currently considering 16x3 front and 14x2.75 in back. That's barely larger.Would you have an idea what the largest size is that I could go on this bike without any modifications to the bike?
Thanks everyone for all your input and advice. I'm going to take most of it. For sure, I'm going to move slowly and only do some slight modifications. I'm going to start just with a new exhaust (which it needs), some engine tuning and see where it goes. I don't need to go 60mph. If I could get to 45ish I would be beyond happy. I will look for some wider tires, just because
Anybody have a feeling about a 70cc kit and a performance exhaust?
Okay, thanks for all the honest feedback, and talking me off the ledge. I appreciate the advice.I am also considering a 70cc upgrade and a new exhaust. I've read that many have done this. Any opinions on this? Stephen, you said "small mods". What do you suggest? I really purchased this for a tinkering project for myself.Attached is a photo of an Urban Express that inspired me
I just purchased an 1983 Honda Urban Express Deluxe which I plan on doing some mods on. I am only moderately skilled, but I’m pretty smart and don’t mind taking on a project. The bike is in pretty good shape and runs well. Because it’s such an old bike there isn’t a ton of info on the web about it so I was hoping some people here could help me with lots of questions.First, I would like to put o
