Lotsa times on a garelli or your girelli the stator side crank seal goes bad. Just take a couple large screwdrivers and pop the dizzy off.Wait... get the correct puller and do it right. Change the other side too while u at it. Use nd30 fluid.

So... take a studied look at the diagram. A35/55 trannies r the same.Important, the spring has some resistance on that collar.It all just wiggles together, remember wiggle and peanut into slot...

Those r always bad. Take a read on myrons page. Although your points are waaay offset.To run brake lights w new coil you will needs some new brake switches and rewiring.

knock down any high spots, you can test by orienting the piston and dropping into empty cylinder. Drop test. Also, Make sure the rings are gapped and move freely.

Your correct to atart with compression. Buy or borrow a proper compression tester. Tranny oil level is not gonna affect starting.

If the system works good then my problem would be human error, ^neglecting to use proper oil, failing to check n fill, letting someone borrow n them not checking/filling with synthetic. Let me take a stab at explaining external ignition ground, open for correction. Vespas r external ignition ground. Try grounding your blue wire out of the stator. If it runs and you want your brake lights to actually work then read up on your electrical system.

The clutches are automatic, they swing out when you throttle up. The lever is a decomp valve on your head aids in spinning up motor but not really necessary as vespas are pretty low compression.

Take a look at the tranny diagram. Make sure the peanut spring sits in the slot, and take a minute that your not missing anything, again check against the diagram.
