Ah. That's Stardust. I still see random mopeds here and there. I've always held a few and have ridden solo over the past few years. Never know when you might see me around.
Chip! Are you still on the Gulf Coast? I moved a few times but still in the CFL metro.
First time logging in for many years. If any of the OG Florida riders from 10-11 years ago are still around, give me a yell. Thinned down the pack from a dozen bikes down to 4 since I last rode about 4 years back. Might thin it down some more. In my true curmudgeon fashion, I'll be keeping most of the bikes old man style, likely under 40mph for my golden years cruise speed.
Can't make it out, but I'll donate. This is near and dear to me. Steve, get at me before you leave for the ride.
you ever upgrade? my suburban is illin.
This was my first bike. Battled the Gurtner. Did the replacement. Always bogged out at high 20s and low 30's no matter what. Please tell me that you figured it out, but also tell me that you'll never get rid of that bike. It is what it is. Not many mods, but such an awesome paint job and a solid ride.
Yep. Accept it for what it is. Not going to be some insane 60mph 80cc kitted beast that hardy resembles a moped. Leave it for what it is. It is a Solex. It is la musique automatique. In Stereo.. Totale..
I concur. Brian Solex is the end all be all answer. Or just sell your Solex to me for a reasonable price.
Not sure. Electrical stuff is mostly what I need. You have the newer model or the older solid 95 style? Mostly the same. Just like my 2000's model more than older.
Looking at headlight, ignition, pedal/arms assembly, etc.for a 2003 or later model.
Do you know any passwords that can get me the bike? That was one of my favorite rides. Emailed him about the issues but never heard back.
May be interested in that tomos looking one. May need to rebuild my garage of stuff I won't use for another 5 years.
If you still have it, get at the brentus. Got questions.
Things that go BUMP in the night.
I won't hold it against it you if you want to ship it down to Orlando. The motor would be greatly appreciated, but I totally understand. Lolz.
Interested about the bike in general but know nothing about who makes their parts. Currently resurrecting a Solex.
did you guys ever figure it out? i walked away from my cimatti grand prix years back. have puch ebr's trying to get onto it. problem is, most my hardware is missing now. have to start from scratch.
Hahahahaaaaa! That was the Bastille Day party we had probably in 06. Some of the last remaining Suicycles and a running Solex were there . Played pin the tail on the Frenchy and had baguettes as the main dish. Good times. Good find, Brian!
Thanks! In the 4-5 years since I started with that project (which stopped flat), I lost most the race, hardware, bearings, etc. Will have to get really creative. or just start scrounging on gremlin parts.
Get it. Pay less as the other post said. True that there are not many readily available mods/add ons, but the sky is the limit if you have the tools for the job. Was one of my first bikes. A solid ride when it ran.
Uh.. yeah. Still have it. Haven't logged into the site in a LONG LONG time. Sorry on the 2 year delay. May be pulling it out shortly to mess around with it.
Thanks, Brian! I am resurrecting mine but want it to have some company. Will probably be drudging out my emails from yesteryear from you. Crazy.. betting it was a good 6-7 years ago
pedal it or ship it to Orlando if you have one
Please ship or pedal it to Orlando.
Justin, we shall speak soon about my Cimatti. Debating that 86cc kit, but I've heard things about 80's and 86's. That tiny bike would probably fly with something smaller. Right now, it's got a 15.15 Dellorto and some crappy non-Minarelli exhaust. Tops out at 25. Yay. Gay...
ah, good to see Jon coming to. since i met him, he was against performance pipes. his puch is pretty wicked as is, modified stock. now he can really run circles around my busted bandit. hey smitty, was the pipe you sold to me some kind of proma hybrid? it's holding up well.
Well said, Harold.. Eventually I'll have the firebreathing TFR. If you order overseas, I may get a kit down the road. Just let me know when and where. Back to the regular post now..
Rich, here's the translation:Why is that old man Brent schooling me on mid range to top end on his 2HP with a slightly milled head, nasty never cleaned exhaust, on a 15mm carb (likely jetted wrong) with no air filter? Plus he's about 20 pounds heavier than me. Why, Rich why does Brent do this to me??I'm empowering Jon now. He's likely in his garage now getting all medieval
Pretty much what you can afford. Sprocket, speed kit, exhaust/filter, carb, flux capacitor, etc...
