I ran into a problem while tuning. With the stock variator and an AX27/AX28 belt, the variator won’t push the belt up high enough in the front causing me to only go 32mph at a high RPM. Hmmm this is a problem, that’s not acceptable. (Stock motor kit slapped did 38)I popped on a BX27 belt to trick it into a higher gear ratio and Tada! 40mph!Obviously I don’t want to lose the low end with a BX belt
Wheels are exact replicas of the originals with the additional bracing thickness. Obviously they don’t say grimeca because they are technically not and different.I have been running the test set since sept 2020 and absolutely no issues or vibrations!Brake plates should be here in 1 month. Hello! This build has reawakened! Motocompo came off the wall yesterday and went outside. The SR engine RUNS started right up! Breaking it in and going around the block, it’s pretty scary! Cvt needs some tuning but holy crap!I will break it in and get it tuned and then we get to see how fast this thing is! The tiny wheel def affects the gear ratio!
Huge thing I do when I first put a variator on. Rev it on the stand and make sure it goes through the range.A couple revs will loosen everything up and make it right as rain.Thanks for explaining this Jbot!

I actually have both a minarelli horizontal 2g and a few euro clutches and can confirm there is nothing compatible between them as is. Not even the springs. It would be interesting to try to add the plastic spring guide.I think compression spring clutches are the future for these high rpm bikes for sure.
I’ve always just put the Malossi white or yellow springs on the new chamfered versions and haven’t had problems. Idk?Maybe the springs are junk, but the stock springs just always seem too light

I just did the math.A standard E50: .198Z50 first: .112Z50 Second: .199So basically second gear is the same as an E50. My engine came with a 13 front sprocket and it looks like I can’t go any bigger without cutting the case

Just here to say I just did this this weekend and its super simple, the original polini practically has the boost ports or whatever on the intake. you just take them out. here's a comparison of my ported one to a fresh out of the box.I also adjusted the exhaust to 170 with 28 blowdown and widened to 65% bore. I also widened the a and b transfers but kept same timing.Haven't tested yet bu
Derbi metrakit won’t work because the wrist pin is too low. Gila won’t work because the intake is open at BDC. The eurokit would also have this problem, but the holes are smaller.The stock Zeta piston has no holes and intake side is much wider.So the hunt is on for a piston that works. I have a zeta. I’ll check it! Dang yeah this definitely would explain why people seize it.A cylinder is only as good or as bad as the material in front of you. If they all seize, there’s a defined reason why and this def could be it!Luckily this is an easy fix with a new piston!
