if you really want to be anal go to www.jlindustrial.com, search for this phrase: 1/2" reduced shank drill, 15mm. this is assuming you have a drill with a 1/2" chuck.if you have access to a drill press with a 3/4" chuck, and want to be really really anal, search for: chucking reamer, straight shank, 15mm. this is a bit designed to make holes whose sides are perfictlly smooth. howeve

verry helpfull guys, thanks. mostly the concern with taking it is a place to put it, my parents house already has 2 non-working mopeds of mine stored there, they dont really want a third. Im thinking I probably wouldnt get to it untill next summer, If ever, etc. (here in minnesota, winter is most of the year) also I would have to find someone with a truck I can borrow. I guess I will just take it,

I am looking for any good moped mechanical fundamentals books, also repair and maintenance. I am looking for them for my 77 vespa bravo and 80 motobecane Sebring, so older manuals will do if they are good, and generic titles would be preferd (not specific to particular mopeds).I looked on amazon and could fined a couple titles, but they were all out of print and seemed to have a collector price ta

Oh, i forgot to mention, the condition of bolth these peds was 5 years ago they stopped running, befour that they ran rough, then they have been sitting in the back yard (in minnesota) for 5 years. they ar free for me to take if i want them, so i would appreciate some opinions as to if its worth it. like i said, im reasonably mecanicly able, and i dont mind spending lots of time, just not lots of

Vespa (piaggo) bravo, blue1980 Motobecane Seabring, silverbolth peds have been sitting outside for 8+years, neather worked when parked. I would say they both need a complete restoration, everything is verry stiff (they don’t even roll smoothly) all cables are stiff, engines are not seezed (I think I che

It has some light rust and a bad seat. I am cirious becouse I see vespas on e-bay and cragslist for rediculis prices, upwords of 2 grand, are these people just dreaming? can you really sell one of these mopeds for that much?mostly I see t

not as dorky as a segway. I was in the city a while ago and saw a bunch of yuppies on a "segway tour" of the river front, starting in Minneapolis's once happening St. Anthony Maine. I checked at the segway store, and the tours were like $90 for an hour! never have I wanted to tip over a crowd of yuppies so bad! all you'd need is a couple of mopeds and a long 2 by 4, you could k

those 7.3L diesels kick ass. the farm I worked at had two '88 F-250's with the 7.3L. there was a big hill by the farm, and one time they rented a bulldoser (im not sure of the size, medium, not a skidsteer by any means) and put it on there already heavy hydrolic dump trailer. the truck towed it from a stop, up the hill without a grunt of discomfort! one was a 4 speed, you could accuually

I hope i dont sound like I'm dissing the veggie oil, I'm toatally for it! i think it just needs some better engeneering, thats all.
Josha Anderson — 18 years ago
the set up consists of two tanks, one with a heater (running coolant from the engine) for the oil, and your regular disel tank. there is also a seprate fuel line with a filter for the oil, and a selenoid to switch back and fourth. whale living with the roomate who had the setup some problumes were evedent, its definatly not for everyone. the first thing is that it is really messy, if you have the

I live in Minneapolis, i'd love to check out some disel motorbikes!
Josha Anderson — 18 years ago
I may have not explaned myself well. I am aware of the veggie set up, infact I spent allot of time helping him get it running. I was mostly commenting on that particular truck. It would not go over 65 on the highway, and you had to downshift ALOT on hills, and forget the hills if you had a load of wood in the tiny bead. It may have just been a very abused truck, but it was puny. I'm used to s

minerel spirits is pretty nasty in itself, I just used about 15 gal. to strip the woodwork in my house. its less noxious than gasoline for sure, but I still wore a resporator. the stuff is also pricey, like $10 or more per gallon, if I remember correctly. I think its cool to see what burns in gas engines, but i like the veggie oil idea alot better, cause its free and relitivly non toxic (although

I'm really intrested in disel motorbikes, I was unaware they existed, where did you get it, do you have a link? an old roomate of mine had a VW golf truck on veggie oil, had the seprate tank with a heater. I cant imagine trying to start that thing in the winter here in minnesota though, it was hard enough to start with regular diesel when it was 50 digreese out. the guy bought the truck for w
