I think it's a Tomos Targa but has spokes instead of snowflakes? Anyone know the year?

I know most of you folks in northern areas are already sipping pumpkin spice and strutting about in your Ugg boots, but down here in the south heat and humidity are still king.I completed my last sorta stock build last winter, and I was cruising at 32 mph. Once the heavy blanket of heat and humidity fell it, I was down to 28mph.The urge to pull it all apart and find my missing mini HP was strong.N

Was out buzzing around on the pinto today, then it died. No amount of cranking would start it. Did the walk of shame.Once I got home I popped off the spark plug and saw spark plug booger. Blew it out and it ran again. How did that sucker get in there?Think i'll carry a spare from now on.

Tightened my chain a bit because chain kept popping off. Made it too tight because I was going slow. Loosened chain. Still going slow. Noticed these metal flakes on the rear sprocket. What did I fuck up?

Ended up getting those chopper bars from treats because they were on sale.Would have gotten some jawa ones but I ordered before the other replies came up.As a review, they are alas no higher than the old ones. However, I love the stance and pullback on them. They fit me good, they feel good.I think I'll just pick up some risers to raise them a bit. Thanks for the suggestions.

Can anyone recommend any tall handlebars? I am a bit hunched over on my pinto. I know some of ya'll like em real low to be aerodynamic, but I want something a bit higher so I can be seated like a fancy lad when I cruise. On treatland I was looking at the chopper barshttps://www.treatland.tv/double-T-krome-chopper-bars-p/chrome-tt-bar.htmand the 'farmer' barshttps://www.treatland.tv/f

Yeah, it is pretty bright. No problem seeing it.I assume it is accurate, I mean it is a gps. More accurate than a stock speedo, anyways.

Been pretty pleased with it. Works good, so far the sun has kept it charged. (Though there is a port in the back you can plug in to charge)Just mounted it on the old dead speedo using outdoor mounting tape.Ebay, 25 bucks shipped on the slow boat.https://www.ebay.com/itm/Autool-X100S-Universal-Car-HUD-GPS-Head-Up-Display-KM-h-MPH-Overspeed-Warning/173058894503

So, in this pinto manual I have, in the section on timing, it tells me it should fire at where the mark on the flywheel is. However, fiddling with it, it looks to me like that mark on the flywheel is actually TDC.All the tutorials say it should be firing before this point. Can anyone clarify this for me?

'Try a variety of jets''You are doing something wrong'Fuck off.

New pipe, new carb. Lets go up from a 12mm to a 15mm chinesiem bing.Lets try this jet. Pull off carb, open bing, get gas on hands, put on new jet.Test ride. Nope.Try to take off carb. Engine to hot. Burn fingers. Wait a while. Put on new jet. Go for a ride.Four stroking. Nope.Wait for engine to cool off. Should I go down three jet sizes? Take off carb. Get gas on hands. Go for a ride.Almost, not q

When searching craigslist or offerup or other sites for a project, what other terms have you seen people used to call a moped when they don't know what they have?Came across one today and it was called a 'Pedal Motorcycle'.
Blorp Blorpmonger — 4 years ago
That's a big ol 14 carb in there. I would mess with your timing first. Try just moving the stater plate from the opposite of where it is now to start.

What is your stock top speed?I am working on one of these now. I am sad though because my shiny chrome tank is all pitted despite me rubbing all the rust off.I put a new 12mm chinesium carb and a tecno circuit pipe, and so far I am a little over 30 mph, which is impressive to me because I am super fat.

Thanks all, I grabbed some pliers and tugged on the part still attached to the cable and it popped off. Guess it was just stuck on there good.

So, I bought a new (used) speedo off of ebay to replace the one with the melted needle on mine.In the second image below, the new one is on the top, and the old one is on the bottom. Now the new one clearly has something in it.The first pic is of my current speedo cable. It clearly had an end that went into the old speedo.So...my question is, do I pry out the 'End' (I do not know what th

Where is a good place to steal a pipe?
Blorp Blorpmonger — 4 years ago
It is scraping against the pipe. Took it off and eyeballed it against the crank on the other side, and I swear they lined up.

Good info, thank you very much.I am a bit leery to think the timing might be off. Though the bike is a bit rusty and the motor was grimy and the piston had to be freed up, when I took off the stator cover, it was immaculate in there. Looked almost brand new. I was floored. However I'll take a timing light to it later today.

Blorp Blorpmonger — 4 years ago
Anyone know the stock jet size for a 78 jc penny with a 12mm carb? The original one was trashed, bought a cheap Chinese one. Fires up great on the first kit, and I can rev it, but not very fast and feels boggy. I want to make sure I have the proper jet in there before I tinker with the timing. No marking on the chinese one, lord knows what it is.Also, how do you remove that mirror that sticks out

Anyone have a picture or a diagram on where this linkage is supposed to hook up for the clutch? I have been scratching my head and I cannot figure it out.
