The US needs to embrace the small turbo petrol engine so the cost of fuel isn't such a ball buster. Not got a lot of torque but decent bhp. European cars typically have 1.0-2.0L engines getting between 40-60 mpg depending on petrol or diesel. The cost here is going up but I never really look. I usually just put €80 in my 2.0 diesel audi A4. I used to get nearly 850km for that even 6 months ag

It's funny, I heard of Parkinson's Law a few years ago where he said a task expands to fill the time alloted for it's completion. I find the same thing is true for money. As much as I'm naturally frugal and try to live a relatively minimal life, as I get a bit older and get more money i find i have less of it that I used to. I always find something stupid to spend it on

Hobbit experts I need your eyes. This bike has come up a good few hours from me but mopeds are rare enough here and I should be able to get it cheap. I enjoy projects like this but never had a hobbit. It looks to me like it's missing the right side chain guard and one of the covers by the tank. How much else is missing from this? Thanks.

It looks way to twitchy to be safe. I've seen somewhere before that there's clubs dedicated to them in the UK that do meets and stuff. There's one for sale here at the moment, I've thought about buying it but what would I do with it.

Just got it out using a punch so thanks for that. I didn't want to start smashing the crank without knowing it might with first but it didn't need much force to get it out.I'll get lapping compound and do what you said. For my own curiosity, why do you say that needs to be done? Was the flywheel fitted badly in past to say it flattened the woodruff key in the first place?
Steve Trooper — 9 months ago
Hoping someone can offer some advice on my woodruff key. I was investigating why a puch i bought recently had no power and when I took off the flywheel I noticed the woodruff key is flattened and stuck in the crank. Any advice for trying to get it out? I'd rather not replace the crank. For anyone interested about the bad running, air is coming straight past the crank seal and it had 40psi when

This is really cool and I'm not really into scoots but the styling is savage.Did your ever sort your mould release? This is what we use for our wax injection machines at work. Talcum powder might work too

There's a stupid amount of red tape over here to drive any mechanically propelled vehicle but e-bikes don't have that issue because they're mechanical assisted. What is grey here are e-scooters (the urinal type, not the toilet type), they only do the same speed as e-bikes but they're mechanically propelled so the government are scrambling to try and legislate them. I see people

An Italian made harley must be pretty reliable haha.A harley is definitely something I want to own at least once but I feel like as soon as I realised that my metric tools are useless on it and it leaked all its oil out I'd get sick of it

Thats really cool. An enduro bike is on my shopping list in the next few years when I can justify the money so I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with this. Are the engine and frame actually built by HD or are they just badged as that?

Toyota should add an option to the cruise control so you can choose the level of road rage you want it to use. Then you could get it to just tailgate the car in front
Steve Trooper — 9 months ago
Not a moped story but in Ireland when you have a learner permit for a motorcycle you have to wear a high-vis vest with an L on the back (makes you a great target for road rage). I had the same crap, people overtaking on corners, overtaking me in solid white lines even though there could be a car in front of me, pulling out of junctions in front of me. And this was while driving a Yamaha MT-07. Pas

The mini snowflakes are savage
Steve Trooper — 4 years ago
Anyone know if these snowflakes from a Hercules will fit directly onto a Puch?

Anyone have any idea what this might be? I was driving past earlier and saw it out of the corner of my eye and thought it might have been a Hobbit. When I went back to have a look I couldn't get close enough to get a good look but I'm not sure what it is. I've attached the crummy picture I got. It's a hard-tail and the plastic under the saddle seems to be connected to the plast

I've seen it for sale in Europe but because it didn't look like the US ones I've seen I wanted to hear peoples opinions on it

Just wanted a second (or maybe more) opinion if this is a genuine ZA50 endplay tool?I've only seen pics of the ones in the wiki and from older threads where the legs aren't tapered. Any ideas?

The points should open 14-17 degrees before TDC (to the right) so you need to advance your timing by 34-37 degrees from where you are now. When the timing is too retarded the piston will already be on the down stroke before it fires so it'll be really sluggish.
