I got the one from 1977 mopeds. Anyone know how to but direct from uni or a site with the filters in different sizes?

This is the second air filter i have bought for my 08 streetmate R. The first one fell off somewhere cause it doesnt fit right. Its almost impossible to get the air filter on the carb, am i supposed to buy/make a custom velocity stack that goes between the filter and the carb? Anyone on here running a uni filter? I cant get that bitch on there!

performance intake and exhaust, as well as a larger carb jet. Also the stock gearing on the streetmate R will limit your speed. Me and my roomate have been tweaking a 08 R for a few weeks now. Right now its hitting high 30's with just a bi-turbo, uni intake, and larger carb jet. Gears and airsal kit are sitting at home waiting to be installed!

check to make sure there is enough slack in the throttle cable so the wall in the carb can close all the way. I had this exact problem like 2 weeks ago and it was becasue my throttle cable had to be adjusted so there was more slack. If its not that than its probably an air leak or wrong size jet.

Im not sure which caqb I have, il have to check tonight. Its a 1977 Puch Maxi 1 speed though. Right now it has the stock intake and intake box that goes into the frame. I was thinking of running the techno bullet and air intake from moped warehouse.

okay then what range of jets should I start with? What is the stock jet on a puch maxi?I did search, the search function on this site is horrible. They need to update this site to Vbulletin or something

I searched but couldnt find an answer. What size jet do I need to run in my 77 Puch maxi 1 speed if im going to have a performance exhaust and intake? Carb is a bing

You cant really see it in the picture but thats not the hole for the reed valve stud. Its actually a small hole in the cylinder head. Could this be the cause of the problem?Im thinking just get an airsal kit at this point?
David H — 14 years ago
I just noticed this small hole towards the bottom of the cylinder. I tried to cover it with gum, and then tried spraying carb cleaner directly into it. Both times nothing changed. Could this be the culprit though?!imageurl! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v677/NISMOPOWER/04-03-08_0012.jpg?t=1207196324!imageurl!

Also I just cleaned the carb so I know its working correctly. The slide comes up all the way and goes down almost all the way. It is not supposed to completely close all the way though right? It could be an air leak but I looked and didnt see anything cracked or bad gaskets, also i tried spraying carb cleaner and didnt notice a drop in RPMS.

I just installed a techno estroil exhaust and 56 main jet on my 94 tomos targa lx. Now when i start it up, it idles waaaay to fast.I already tried adjusting the carb idle screw, currently have it 1 1/2 turns out. And there was really no difference regardless of where I had the idle screw. So the only thing I can think is that maybe I have a defective carb jet?Anyone have an experience like this be

whats up guys, I did search but I couldn't find a definitive answer on this. I just picked up two mopeds, a Puch maxi 1 speed and a Tomos targa LX. I am about to order bi-turbo pipes for both of them but I dont know what Jet size to order for each carb. I heard low 60's for the Tomos and I have no idea for the puch. Maybe someone on moped army should make a sticky link with the answer to

I am going to install my airsal kit on my Tomos ttlx (A35) tomorrow or the next day. I have heard people have had trouble installing the piston rings, i was just wndering what should i do to avoid breaking the rings and to get them on nice and smooth. Also what parts do i have to lubricate after installin (i.e. piston, wrist clips, rings????) and what lubricant should i use.Thanx

Yea my tomos feels like its going to fall apart some times but it never does. Just make sure you check all bolts and nuts every now and then and make sure they are tight, more importantly make sure the nuts holding the wheels on are tight as they can sometimes come loose causing a little wobbling action. A performance kit would increase your speed and give you more power, however it will not make

When I popped my tire last year I went to a bike store in JP. I forget the name but I have it written down at home, il post it later. Of course they dont have the right size inner tube so you would have to order it offline and bring it in. I just brought my rim in and left the moped at home. Also see if the spanish guy that works there can do it for you, he is skilled and did mine in like 30 second
David H — 14 years ago
Sounds like you might need a new clutch, or maybe even rebuild the transmission. You got ATF in there?
David H — 14 years ago
I need to replace my rear inner tube since its flat. What is the regular size for a tomos? There are so many on 1977 mopeds and moped warehouse that I really dont know what size is best.THanks

I have a 1996 Tomos targa lx, it has an A35 engine with CDI. A while ago i rode around for a while and when i tried to start it up again it wouldnt start. After that there was a sound as if air was hissing out of the cylinder every time i tried to start it. So i figured i had blown a head gasket or pistion ring and didnt have enough compression, so instead of buying new parts i just decided to spe
