What size tubing did you buy? I tried to use vinal tubing, which is what the mechanic that worked on my bike before used. I also tried fuel line hose (the black stuff that is reinforced) but I think it is too big and and flexible enough. Anyway, the situation is much worse. Now when I pull the clutch, the pedals turn as if the lever isn't pulled. I put in 13.5 oz of oil, yet the amount th

According to the manual, which 50cc listed, it requires 13.5 oz of SAE 30 NON-DETERGENT. I have been having the same problem. A friend of mine (gear head) suggested that perhaps the clutch isn't disengaging, and that is why it stalls - which was also mentioned in your thread. I am going to see if my XL Sport has the same problem. If possible, could you let me know how your repair goes? I

I had it running, nearly full throttle for about 20 minutes. I then stoped and it died. Then it is difficult to get started.

The add on filter is new. I don't believe there is a bango filter. I took off the part that the fuel line attaches to and there isn't a screen or anything between the plastic part and the metal housing of the carb (does that make sense?). I may try to take the fuel line and by pass the filter and hook it straight to the carb to see if that fixes the problem. I figure if it does, then I

I am in desperate need of help. I own a 1979 Garelli Super Sport that I can’t keep running. No matter how much gas I give or how high the idle is turned up, when ever I come to a stop, the engine dies. These are the steps I have taken so far: Fresh gas; took carb apart and cleaned; checked spark and plug; the tail light and head light were not working and I found the short. The wires t

I am looking for a replacement speedo cable for my 79 Garelli super sport. The orignal was a Huet (sp?). I contacted moped showroom and my email bounced back saying the email was rejected (good thing I have high self esteem). Does anybody have any suggestions on who to contact to find a replacement cable?ThanksMarco Parducci

I am looking for a 78 Garelli Supersport clutch cable. I bought a universal one from the moped warehouse and I can't seem to install it correctly. When I pull on the clutch, there is no sound coming from the engine - like it is trying to turn over. I am assuming that the old cable is stretched out seeind that it was running fine one minute then this problem

I am almost positive my Garelli SS is 4 stroking. I have cleaned the carb out numerous times and have checked the float and needle several times, yet can't get it to stop 4 stroking. Any ideas on how to fix this. I know how to adjust the idle mix, but I have no idea where the fuel mix control is. It has a Delberto (sp?) carb.

I have a Huret (sp?) speedo and it is broken. I e-mailed moped junk-yard and they say the speed-o company is out of production and there is no after-market cable. Any suggestions on a replacement. I own a 79 Garelli SS XL

Thanks Bernard and Cyberian. I took the carb partial apart to remove the float and needle. Tried to clean it, put it back together, but it still was stuck. So I took the whole carb apart (needless to say I was very nervous - not much of a gear head), cleaned it, put it back together and it no longer leaks. If it weren't for this site and all the helpful people, I think I would have sold it

I have a 78 Garelli Supersport that sat idle for 2 years. Finally got started. Have had to clean out the tank several times. replaced the fuel line and added an inline gas filter. However, the petcock gets clogged every so often. I have tried to clean the screen in the tank several time. It runs for a while, then interrupted flow. Can I just by pass the petcock? If so, how would I go about doing

I just bought a 1978 Garelli Super Sport. The bike wasn't used the last two years. After a few days of trying to get it started, it finally turned over. It was running fine, then it wasn't. I cleaned the jet out, emptied the fuel tank and cleaned the screen in the fuel tank. I also had the throttle cable replaced. It was running fine, the it started to bog. It felt like it was vapor lo

My original post isn't correct. It has a transmission, it needs the trans. gasket.

I will take a pic today, if possible and post! Sorry about the smart A** remark, I didn't see your post, only your ad. If only you were closer to Chicago, I wouldn't have to sell.

thanks for the ad that is totally useless, seeing that it is half a country away!

I have a 79 Garelli, that unfortunetly, I have to sell. Currently it isn't running. However, I had it running the last two years. It needs a trans. gasket, oil and the carb might need to be cleaned out to get it running. Tires, Tubes, Speedo, Brakes, Pedals all one year old. I have a spare rim. there is one small tear in the seat. not much surface rust. considering the year it is in goo
