I am running an engine without it and no trouble. If I remember correctly all it does is shield the seal from oil splashing. Just a little more chance of an oil leak, but if the seal is good it should not matter.
As a V1 enthusiast, I appreciate the work you are doing. There seems to be a learning curve, even with simple parts. I run an aluminum fan on my performance engine because I worry about the plastic getting old and brittle. You have a solution that seems very good.
More Pics...I will include the exhaust pipe, no silencer with the engine.
I hate to do it, but one of my project engines has to go. I am stretched too thin to put everything together. This is a Franco Morini S5 GSA 50cc liquid cooled engine in kit form. The cylinder is very good, and it has a brand new Wiseco forged piston kit. I rebuilt the crankshaft with a new Hot Rods kit. The engine case is in good shape, ready to clean and install seals and bearings. Two new c

When gasoline is vaporized in a carburetor it absorbs heats and lowers the temperature of the intake manifold and carb. The temperature drop due to vaporization is about 30 to 35 degrees. On a humid day, moisture in the air will condense on the intake manifold and it may freeze if the ambient temp is low enough. A smaller manifold, with higher velocity, has more of the fuel air mixture contacti
For maximum strength, the internal as well as external square edge must be radiused. When I ground crankshafts I discovered you could make an area stronger by removing material. Some crankshafts have the radius at the sides of the journals cut below the diameter of the journal. Cranks with no radius are made stronger by cutting a radius, even if it means going small diameter than the journal. On
The 16mm Mikuni and manifold on one of my V1 engines pours condensation, but the 20mm Mikuni on another one has none. It happens the most when the intake is a bit smaller and the air velocity is high.
Thank you Mike !Fast Shipping and Excellent Packing !
At the point where the flats end and the crank goes to full round I bet it has square edges. The edges should be radiused slightly to remove the stress risers. When you flex a shaft with no flats on it, the stress is spread evenly over the unsupported area. With flats cut the stress is concentrated at the edge between the flat and round areas, right where it snapped. Concentrated stress will l
The clutch bell is different and the clutch nut is special. The nut has left hand threads, so your crank must also.
That sounds correct, but the guys more familiar with the e50 can help.
The Emgo filters are not bad and not as hurtful as my $47 K&N. They have 28, 35, 39, 42, 45, 46, 48, and 60mm mounting sizes and the most expensive is 14 bux.
Excellent, thanks for sharing.
