I’m pretty sure 505 and 504 use different flywheels, unless there’s some weird differences between a certain years or models. Pretty sure 505 uses Bosch 360mm circumference flywheel (same as puch) and 504 is smaller… like 320mm circumference I think.

The noise you’re hearing could also be caused by piston slap or just fin chatter from the fins bouncing around at higher rpms.If you’re going to be checking and setting your timing it should probably be done a little bit more accurately than just looking down the plug hole since there’s a few degrees of flywheel rotation where the piston stays stationary at tdc. Aiming for 14-17mm is enough to ge

True, if the clutch was stuck on it would idle on the stand and the back wheel would be spinning. Also if the carburetor number ends in 101 then it doesn’t have an idle circuit, the notch in the slide is where the idle mixture passes through. My guess would be the decompression valve. The cable that runs from your starter lever to the clutch actually passes through your decompression valve, so if t

Ahh well ya learn something new every day! Sure looks a lot nice than my home made one lol. I’m that case you’ll probably want to leave it in as it probably doubles as a shim.

Dang sorry I wish the heavy pedders could help but all of our bikes are fucking MINT lmao

Yup what Fowler said is right. The plate with the tabs is a home made piece for splashing the clutch oil around. You don’t even need the piece really so 2/3 tabs is still better than none. You’ll probably want to find the piece that broke off before it bounces around and destroys something. You don’t need a special tool to take that clutch but off though, just a piston stop… if you don’t have a rea

Actually I just remembered that Garelli’s commonly have an issue where the little rubber bushings that go between the two metal pieces of the clutch (part #11) get hot and melt then re-harden all globbed up in a way won’t allow the starter clutch to move and contact the other piece properly.Check out the “one speed noi” section of this wiki page.https://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Garelli

You can also try pulling the starter lever (on the handle bars) in and then using your thumb to push that starter clutch arm (down on the engine) in further and see if there’s more room for it to move. If there is room, keep the arm pushed all the way in with your thumb and try turning the pedals to see if it’s engaging the engine. It might help to have to the spark plug out for all of this so you

My girlfriend is running a basically stock 504 1A that hits 35 with her 140 pound self on it. The only mods are the 28mm Sachs header and 28mm clamp on chamber, which probably isn’t the absolute best option for exhaust but it bolts right up with zero issues and most importantly is real quiet. Sounds like a popcorn machine when you let off the gas lol. Make sure you get the header in the correct d

Mine came with bent cylinder skirt which wouldn’t allow the piston (without rings) to slide freely through the entire bore. Didn’t notice the reviews saying the same thing until it was too late… but it gave me a good opportunity to rebuild it all again with a crank and DR kit.Make sure to check all the things before you start putting it together and do it right the first time!

These came stock on the KTM Foxi which was originally made to have an E50, but ended up with a Sachs 504 and a special bracket. I need that bracket! Yes I am trying to put a Sachs 504 on a Maxi! Why? Who knows!Name your price shipped to Long Beach, CA or I can pick up in Nashville

In the Hulu show “Baskets” starring Zach Galifianakis, season 1 Episode 7 around the 16:30 min mark a moped can be seen in the background. Is that my bestie with a Testi?

Does the bike start/idle/run at all on the stand with the rear wheel in the air? Does the bike die when you actually apply the brakes, or when the rear wheel stops moving? If the bike runs and the back wheel spins while on the kickstand but dies when the back wheel is stopped, you’ve got signs of textbook Garelli clutch issues. Take off the giant circlip that clips on those nine pegs and the whole

Just as the title says, got my moped stolen around 3am this morning 2/7/21 in Long Beach near the area of 2nd and Hermosa. It’s a 74 Vespa Ciao, yellow with white covers and a green ammo can on the back. She’s a decent Lil ripper with the Olympia 43mm kit and polini pipe. Please keep your eyes peeled if you’re local and help me watch CL if you’re not. This was my first ever bike so I’d really love

Hi okay another stupid question, I dunno why this thing has got me so screwed up but... In your last picture, the piece that came off the bike and has the thin nut part on it obviously is where it threads onto the bike but the replacement part I got off treats doesn't have that thin nut part. Basically it's just like these other pictures, it's got a front plate with writing and back

Finally got around to getting pictures of it! Thanks for the input everyone. So this is how it looked when I took the side cover off. The cog can move in and out and wiggle all over. The front part with the writing and arrow seems to be tightened down as far as I can get it by hand.http://imgur.com/fxY4yMKI managed to get the front plate off and this is the view. I assumed that these teeth are what

Its like the title says... The rear sprocket on the pedal drive is slipping. I noticed it because the chain fell off mid-ride, so I can't say that the chain fell off because this part broke but theres a pretty good chance of it.Basically the sprocket has come loose and has a bit of free play in and out, and when I turn the teeth by hand I can clearly see the teeth on the inside of the sprocke

Hey everyone sorry for the no reply/update for a while, I broke my back in an un-moped-related accident so I got a little distracted from my project!Turns out there were no air leaks so I finally gave in and cleaned the carb again and sure enough it started running with the choke off as long as I was giving it throttle, still no idle though. So I cleaned the carb again, this time using a strand o
