okay so i finally sprung for a kit for my st even tho i said to myself i wouldn't. Hey, it was only $77. this is my first kit ever but i have been doing some research on how to install them. so i have a few questions upon opening it. The piston doesn't have an arrow pointing down. there's the 2 holes for the wrist pin and then on the one side of it is a somewhat of a square shaped

RY@N @uBrEy — 9 years ago
so now i have to down jet, new plug, clean banjo, then check for airleaks. thanks everyone for all these tips. hopefully i can get this all fixed. i might also get a new go faster exhaust, hi flow filter, in which case i wont need to change my jet.

okay im gonna make sure im all sealed good. its hard when i cant keep it running long enough to check good. also how would i adjust the float on a sha 14.12. its like this plastic bubble ring thing hinged to the carb?
RY@N @uBrEy — 9 years ago
Okay today i removed the airbox, the carb is super duper clean, plug looks very dark and wet(looks like burnt grease or something on it). it still has the same problem. i am definatley getting fuel. great compression, does have spark. when i spray starting fluid into the carb its starts so easily. like in half a kick but will bog and die within 10 seconds. when i do get it running, when i rev i

i do still have the airbox connected, but i have a very big jet in now.(59) i have a stock pipe and im using a jet that many use when they put on a biturbo, techno boss, etc... Im gonna clean the carb tomorrow and maybe switch jets. also it is a bog not a 4 stroke. it will just be riding strong once warmed up, then it just bogs and dies. So tomorrows agenda is, remove airbox, clean out carb thor

Sorry guys if i sound like a broken record bringing up a dumb question, but i have a tomos st with an a35. It only starts with the choke on. someone here said i should upjet because that means too much air not enough fuel. well now im running pretty much stock with a 59 jet in the sha 14.12, i think normal is like 53-55. but when i do start it it has to warm up or else it bogs, and this is done

Okay so how can i go about removing them without messing other stuff up. yes i did check the wiki diagrams but im not understanding. in the back where the taillight connects is like a metal box wherre the wires slide into it with the metal tips on them(sorry for my bad eexplaining), couldnt i just pull them out? although what do i know, im not at all an electrrician.
RY@N @uBrEy — 9 years ago
just a quick question. If i unplug my turn signals in the back wwhere they connect, will i lose spark in my engine and not be able to ride. Ps i have the a35

okay! i dont have a torque wrench though. my dads friend does. how much should it be torqued down? i do have a socket wrench so that should probably work with some muscle.. also when i take it off, am i going to have to replace all the gaskets and the rings for the piston?
RY@N @uBrEy — 9 years ago
nope not yet. vice grips havent worked and i dont have a dremel or welder. i also still need to get the cylinder off. its really clean but the nuts holding it down are slightly rusted and are givin me a hard time. im not sure if im gonna be able to get this thing out. worst comes to worse i may need to replace the cylinder. that or take it to a shop were they have better tools and can do it.

RY@N @uBrEy — 9 years ago
the slotting thing seems good. i dont have a dremel though :( when i use vice grips it just messes up what is sticking out. should i be using some sort of lubricant or spray like wd40?
RY@N @uBrEy — 9 years ago
should i spray some lubricant on it. ive tried to twist it and it wont go.
RY@N @uBrEy — 9 years ago
so me being a dumbass and tooling around i ended up snapping my exhaust stud. theres onlt about a quarter/half inch left and no threads. How can i remove it without welding. do i need to buy a new cylinder? im already buying a new hi hi comp cylinder head.
RY@N @uBrEy — 9 years ago
