What kind of shape is the complete engine in? How much are you looking for it?

Looking for an M02 first gear if you have one? Thanks!

Looking for an M02 first driven gear, preferably with the shims that go with it. Thanks!!!

Thanks, I did find a hookup though. Just curious, have either of you seen this happen before?

Interestingly enough, the engagement rollers are working correctly and grabbing the hub (87), but the hub just spins inside the gear (86) or really vice versa, since the gear is supposed to turn the shaft. My assumption is that the hub is supposed to be press fit into the gear and this one somehow just spun itself hard enough that it now turns. Really weird.

Looking for a little guidance with an M02 Sebring. Runs fine, but will rev and not accelerate from a stop. Traced the problem to the 1st driven gear (86 on the attached diagram). It will spin on the ratcheting hub (87) which is supposed to drive the shaft. Why would it spin on this hub? Is the hub supposed to be press fit into the gear and it just wore loose?Any suggestions for fixing this, or doe

Yeah no it's definitely rejetted, I've tried a whole range of jets as well but that's not the problem, I'm pretty sure it has to do with the atomizer. Maybe just time to try a better carb since I'm planning on building this anyway. Oh well.
William Harrison — 7 years ago
I'll let you know Marc, I do want to try to get this working but if not I'll be in touch. Thanks!Jbot, so am I doing this all wrong? Does the end of the atomizer with the 2 big holes go up towards the top of the carb and line up with the hole closer to the top of the carb?
William Harrison — 7 years ago
Ok so just to be sure, the 2 big holes in the atomizer line up with this hole (in picture) and the one opposite it, right?
William Harrison — 7 years ago
Yeah, I was real careful to do that, I'll check again though. Thanks!

Hey,Has anyone ever run into issues after boring out a PAI carb? I tried boring it out to 1/2" and putting it on a PAII setup (cylinder, intake, reeds, etc). Long story short, the bike runs really rough. Timing is dead on and compression is good.Is the atomizer different in the 12mm Keihin vs the 10mm Keihin? Could that be causing the problem? Or maybe I just nicked one of the tiny passages.

Looks like you're in Pittsburgh, if you get stuck, feel free to bring it by my place and I can take a look at it.

Has anyone ever used a side stand on a Murray? Which ones work? I know the swingarm is different than other puchs. Thanks!

Anything still available?

One problem I'm having, I guess a good problem to have, is that my belt is now starting so high on the rear pulley that the front variator can't variate far enough for the belt to bottom out in the rear pulley. This is with a notched stock 3-roller. Anyone else notice this?

Unfortunately never was able to find the ebay one

Don't forget the bearing seat on the rear wheel was cracked too!

Hey, looking for a Murray headlight and headlight bucket. Not sure if other bullet-style headlights will work or not, let me know what you think. Thanks!

I'd just charge whatever shipping ends up being, I could likely send the motor and bag of misc parts for about $20. As for the frame and wheels though, that would end up being a lot pricier, probably over $100. So not sure if shipping this would be worth it.

Thanks, I tried but unfortunately seems like it's rusted on :/

I have a McCulloch AMF Roadmaster that's in pretty poor shape but is mostly complete. Engine is stuck, the piston moves freely but the crank won't turn. I think the flywheel is rusted to the stator or the engine case. Free to whoever wants it.
William Harrison — 7 years ago
I know :(
William Harrison — 7 years ago
No idea why I can't figure this out, but how do I pull the flywheel on the McCulloch engine? Got the nut off, but there's no threads for a puller.

I know a couple people already mentioned me in this thread, but yeah I'm always up for a ride.
William Harrison — 7 years ago
Already did! Hoping said rumor is true.
