Alright. Finally had time to tinker. I connected the two red wires together to bypass everything and I got a great spark! Runs good. So now whats the deal? What would be the most logical problem? Faulty kill switch? etc? Thanks for getting me headed in the right direction.

I'm not making progress and getting frustrated. At this point I have a 45 mph Streetmate that I'm about to completely tear apart down to the nut and bolts and sell it piece by piece. So if I don't get any response in the nest couple of days.. Look for parts!

Tried to do some research so I'm going check the resistance from the plug wire. And disconnect the kill switch to see if its grounding out the CDI.But any help would be great.

Don't know if this matters for wiring purposes (grounds, fuse) but the brake light, turn signals, headlight, all work.

I made another post several weeks ago about this thing dying but it wasn't accurate and I just want to start over with what Ive found and more detailed info.I have fuel and new spark plug. But when I connect the plug to the plug wire and touch it to the engine I get zero spark 95% of the time when kicking the pedal. Every once in a great while I might a get a very weak one. I have this hot wi

I replaced it two years ago. I'll check the wiring but not exactly sure what wiring I should be checking. I'll try and follow the kill switch wire unless someone already knows where it ends

I have an 05 Streetmate that has run great for 2 years but now evry once in a while it completely dies mid ride. Almost like I shut off the ignition switch. And then it won't start, leaving me stranded. It has gas. I haven't had time to investigate things but is this a common problem? I'm going to take the spark plug and wire out of the head and kick start it to see if I'm gett

I have a Streetmate with a Turbo pipe, air box mod, and 60 main jet. This is the plug after a 1/2- 3/4 mile ride at wide open throttle.Thoughts?http://www5.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=7005516025/a=10125606025_10125606025/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/

14. Main jet / Needle question.

Shawn Martin — 9 years ago
Forum: Performance
I'm reading that the main jet isn't a factor at 1/4 throttle in a Dell'Orto PHVA. That would be the needle. But doesn't the needle slide into the main jet? The same 1/4 turn of the throttle lifts the needle. So a 56 main jet would deliver less gas then a 62 main jet. So doesn't the main jet play a part in a 1/4 turn?

http://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Racing_transmission_fluid_for_your_tomosOn Wiki.. it has this article using 700ml of trans fluid. 350ml gear oil + 350ml ATF. 700ml seems like a crazy amount. I have a 05 Streetmate. Has anyone done this besides the poster of that article?

The tuning manual says 5th position and thats the way it was when I removed it: http://www.tomosforum.nl/uploads/Pim/Tomos_Streetmate_A55_-_Information_and_Tuning_Manual.pdf

17. Stock C-clip position on a A55. Question.

Shawn Martin — 9 years ago
Forum: Performance
The stock c-clip position on the tapered needle is in the 5th position which is all of the way raised. (As rich as it will go). So putting on a Turbo pipe, doing the airfilter mod would make more air so it would seem that you would not even bother changing the c-clip...because any other position would be leaner. Correct thinking? I changed to a 60 jet and it is chocolate brown at full throttle.I k

So you think that will get the turn signals and brake light to work? If thats the case, I think I'll just make a toggle switch between the two.

Tried to post this before and it didn't show up. Sorry if this becomes a duplicate...but:Check the attachment. If I connect the pink and yellow wire (where the arrows are pointing)..would that act as if the key was in the on position? Anything else I would have to rewire? The ignition is unplugged and has been sent off to a locksmith. Right now the bike runs and the headlight works but the br

The ignition is unplugged and sent off to a locksmith. Right now the bike runs and then headlight works but the brake light and turnsignals do not. I was hoping connecting the pink and yellow would fix that. I was able to get to the gas tank... so

Well to reply to multiple posts...Screwdriver didn't work.I have a bike/lock shop looking at it today. $30 if he can do it.And either stolen key or some kids thinking it would be funny to remove it when I went into the store. And yes... should have remembered to take it out.

How do you hotwire it? Is there a way to break the lock and just ride with an unlocked seat until I buy another lock set later on? They want $150. And one dealer said I couldn't just buy a new key.

I have lots of experience with carbs on cars, Air Fuel sensors on headers, etc.. but I have only had this Dellotoro for a few days. So youll have to forgive me with my lack of experience on a moped carb. Is the choke easy to see when looking in? I'll have to check when I get home.

I have a 14mm Dellotoro with a manual choke lever. I have an issue with a black plug at idle. I have the mixture screw turned about 2 out. I'm curious if my choke is still on a tad even with the lever off. Whats the best way to check if this is the case? Can I totally remove the choke to check?

What confuses me is that before these mods it had nice brown color to the plug. I'm more concerned with the bike dying at take off. Its makes a bogging sound and then stalls. Maybe a leaner setting on the needle?

I had a stock 05 Streetmate that seemed to run fine. The BR6ES plug that someone had put in was a nice brown color. I did the Airbox mod, put on a Turbo pipe, upjetted to a 60, put in a BR8ES, since that was recommded and deleted the oil pump and am using 40:1 mix. At full throttle it runs great. But sometimes on take offs (1/4-1/8 throttle) it just dies ..which sucks at a red light with cars be

I still have to get the carb adjusted correctly but acceleration was better with the 31 tooth. However is wasn't by much and the 31 tooth wouldn't get me 40mph. Maybe 38mph.
