Toyota Sun Raider man. Actually any Toyota RV will do. The worst gas mileage you will see is 15 when your going up mountains or something. close to 20 mpg's regular style. I lived in one for 10 months, hit both coasts and even made it up to Alaska. They cost a bit more then similar rv's in the same class but you will laughing while your filling up. Also, you can camp for free at any walm

So anyone re-keyed one of these?

This dude Rico who I sold my Maxi too just had it jacked from him. Thought I'd do him a solid and see if anything shows up. It's a white maxi with a boss pipe, spoke rims, magura levers and domino grips. When i signed over the title the plates read 36327MP. VIN 9553416.

Just scored a puch maxi i believe and as all puch's, it has a fork lock BUT, it also has a rear spoke lock. looks like the same key lock as the fork lock but its a pin 6 inches long you stick into the bottom bracket and lock down. No key with it, I know you can re-key the fork locks, but anyone re-keyed the spoke lock?

I flipped mine sadly... tried to pop up the front tire before going down a ramp and the fork went sideways but the bars were straight. I bailed and trirad went on its side. Blew up the diff, engine ran fine. I hopefully looked for a replacement diff but no luck. got 500 for it on ebay. The guy that bought it was a friend of a friend so I heard though him that they still manufacture the differentia

I have a piaggio si in pieces that im trying to put together. I found what seems to be the right wiring diagram but the wires coming out of my magneto are one green and one black. Then there is a unlabeled tab coming out of a white plactic insulator. anyone know what color that wire should be? Also what should green go to and why do I only have three wires, is the forth just a ground to the motor

You can buy all sorts of genaric air filters off the web, just pick a size that kinda fits and a piece of metal tube or whatever. Mods for mopeds are so bogus, companys that sell that stuff rip you off hardcore. A 50cc engine is so small that you could make most mods to the intake and exaust with hardly any tools at all, all by yourself.
Ben Colla — 18 years ago
sounds extra bogus, why would it make it shoot flames? of course its bad, if the fuel is still combusting while its going out the pipe its going to mess shit up
Ben Colla — 18 years ago
i put 92 in my beast and it runs like shit, i wouldent recomend it unless you mess with the carb
Ben Colla — 18 years ago
Yeah, make your own stuff man. I got a honda express and I made a ram air scoop for the stock air filter out of a piece of sheet metal. Im going to make an exaust out of two pieces of metal pipe. The ram air made it go 32 (5 miles faster then it was) and acceleration is crazy faster. You dont have to waste money buying after market parts, its all bogus i think. The parts are so simple i dont know

How does everyone feel about throwing a ram air intake on a moped. I need input and im not getting it and im disapointed with your guyses "army", like, i almost would call your army gay. I put a huge ram air on my honda express and got s loads of accecleration.

I have a Piaggio Grande deluxe with turn signals. I am getting 12v off the rectifier at idle but when I throttle up it goes to 30V! I just bought the thing, and as dumb as it is, I want to leave the signals on. There is no voltage regulator in the wiring diagram. Anyone know what my problem is?
Ben Colla — 12 years ago
Just picked up a Piaggio grande in mint condition! I keep blowing the rear running light, after checking the voltage its at 10VAC at idle, 25 or more at high rpm's. The brake light appears to be fed by a different coil wire as it never reaches above 6VAC. No battery was installed when this was the case, so I went to batteries plus with measurements of my battery compartment. Turns out they ha

What do you mean? It is rebuilt. Is it possible I have the wrong Jug, maybe an a55 or a35? I got this moped in shambles and It looked as if the last owner tried hard to get it running and opened up the engine a few times. The jug on there looks like A3 and the vin states it had an a3 stock. Maybe there are two size jugs for this engine?

I replaced the old gasket with a new one from mopedjunkyard.com, it seemed to fit fine and was only 1/8" thick.I measured the distance from where the spark plug seats to the TDC on the piston and its 0.84" Does anyone have an A3 they could test?
Ben Colla — 13 years ago
I have an 86 tomos A3 that will not give me compression, no matter what I do. So, I bought a brand new 38mm piston and rings, I get 65 PSI. Sucks. I then mill the jug and head on glass and some wet 400 grit sand paper for better contact... 65 PSI still. HMMMM, alright its time to buy a hone. So I buy a hone, (there was just very light scratching on the jug) and hone it smooth. 65 psi still!!!! My

I have a tomos that won't spark for me. I'm not sure on the engine type, A3 possibly? It has two wires coming out of the stator, a black and a yellow. When I ground the yellow, the black gives a steady 6VAC and vise versa when I ground the black. I swapped the ignition coil with a known working one, still no spark. I pulled the flywheel and noticed the points weren't moving. they ar

Does anyone know what model engine this is off of a tomos? AND, where can I find a wiring diagram for it?
Ben Colla — 18 years ago
Yes, it has a new plug. You think timing? It seems so strange to me, I can do 30mph and it starts on the first push (unless it has been idleing to long) It runs so good! Could you explain how timeing would effect this?
Ben Colla — 18 years ago
I have a 1979 puch maxi, I just bought it. it runs great except when I idle at a stop light for over a minute or two, it backfires and or dies the second I give it throttle. And It has a very hard time starting back up. Does anyone know how I can fix this, or what may be the problem?
Ben Colla — 18 years ago
I have a 80 yamaha qt50. It runs, but very poorly. I took off the exauhst pipe and found the piston has scratches all over it. It is probably not getting proper compression because of this. What can be done to fix this? Can I just buy new rings or should I get the engine bored larger and get a larger piston? I dont want to spend much money because this thing is pretty old, I just want it to run ok

I need a bing carb for my Newport. I'd love a 14 or 15mm but would buy a 12mm too. OR in the off chance you have all of this, i need carb top, slide, needle, those two needle clips and the spring. Name your price
