I was going to get a set of these for my Aprilia rs50, but even with a kitted 6 speed I heard they take FOREVER to reach proper temps. Don't think you can run them with tubes, can you?

I do appreciate the feedback! I also agree with the foot pegs situation, and the seat. I'll be looking into those soon and probably doing a similar but different seat, as bending sheet metal left cracks in the material. It was a testing placeholder anyways.A main concern I had was putting body weight on mounted pegs on the swingarm. It gave me more jitters than that riding position thinki

I do appreciate it man, like I said I'm really interested to come kick it on the West Coast with everyone. I completely agree that Keith Code's instructional videos (even though they are dated) are absolutely fantastic, and anyone I know on two wheels I've recommended them to either get the book or watch the video.I'm hoping at some point this summer I can swing down to AZ to

As I said I'm not the best rider, nor do I know everything. There were a few sketchy moments, but I remember them either as not focusing 100% on my line and focusing too much on trying to stop Ed from passing me again. I don't understand why you're just casting every stone you can at this whole thing. *Shrug* Guess that's just MA for you.We can debate this until the sun comes

I never claimed that this riding position was the best I'm simply claiming it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.I'm simply explaining my thought process on rider position and controls of our bike.I never said I was a better rider than anyone and I'm not trying to jump on here with an ego. But if you want to make "bets," sure. I know his bike is a beast, I

Also I will have to say that this position feels fine at specifically this track, where there are really only 2 tight turns.

Hah! I didn't expect this to catch so much hate in a thread!I've been doing some research over the past season on body position, especially on frames similar to old Kreidler 50's/125's used in classic racing. I'm struggling to find the exact quote but I gained inspiration reading here: http://www.elsberg-tuning.dk/engineering.htmlYou can't go fast on any sort of tra

I really want to try this with a race carb bowl, solder the pipe to the float bowl screw so swapping back to normal jets is no problem! How much more can you turn the dial out? Is there a way to lock the setting so it won't vibrate lean? Going to try this on a 70cc set up, our weather in Missouri is all over the place, you can tune one day and be good and the next no bueno.

16. Re: Anyone making hobbit sub frames??

Kyle Malone — 6 years ago
Forum: Buy + Sell
I'm working on making a small batch of subframes. I used two 3/16 pieces of 5052 aluminum plate and bolted them together after tracing a cut up stock subframe. Total cost of materials around $60. I finally tested it out last weekend and it held up, but needs a little refinement with the rear wheel spacing and belt tension. After I've got it all squared away I was going to take it somewh

Having the exact same issues with a nearly identical setup. Increasing variator weights lowered the rpm enough to where it doesn't do this, but a huge sacrifice in power/top speed.I have a can-am top tank with a large petcock, 1/4 fuel line, good gas flow, and added a vented gas cap. I've been scratching my head over this, I'm thinking either a bigger carb or at the minimum a float

Is this a stock cdi? There's some simplified wiring diagrams for stock/aftermarket cdi units on the wiki. Search it up. I bought an aftermarket one from 1977 and it sits so high out the cam rubs the coils... :/

That's a scooter though, don't worry I would rather take a hill slow than look lame. Is your clutch oiled properly with the right oil? You will also want to change gearing. With my bigger intake and carb I've handled some pretty decent hills keeping in the 30s. I swapped my front gear from 16t to 14ti believe. it made a difference for sure. I'll get back to you this evening on

Yeah, that's what I did! Spend ~25 for a 19mm intake and upgrade the carb to a 19-20 clone. Have a slight problem with air leaks. Currently running a 94 jet and only issue is the low end.

Ah, I see! Guess I could just use some liquid gasket, that was my first impression but does that stuff come off easy enough if I have to re-jet? Is it like an RTV type substance?

Treats AND 77mopeds are out of the shorty intakes, the one I bought is a poor design. The ID is pretty rough which doesn't make sense because the flow of air/gas mixture should go through a smooth surface, correct? Not only that but with one of those I could actually have access to the idle and mixture screws.

Yes, I had to tap the plastic shim onto the intake it was so snug. No wobbles there!

I mean, it says 18mm ID, that should give the OD about 19mm.Even if the carb is 19.5 it bolts on very tight. Maybe not tight enough?
