good times.. good times... thanks all
Andy Do you live in Mobile now?
i did not base my increased upjetting on noise alone the noise is just what triggered me to look into the problem. i did plug-chops to get to the jet size i am at now 68. but you are right this has to be a mechanical problem. the more i think about it and about the only thing i have not looked at is the base gasket. which may have blown
ok i have a 65 cc Polini kit i got last year and rode it around all last summer with a 14/12 carb and a 60 jet and no problems it ran fine and plug-chops looked good. however in the past month or so it has started sounding like the rings were trying to seize at full speed and i could hear them rubbing bad when i let off the gas. which would make me think not enough gas so i have over the past 3 da
yeah it should just screw off
i run a 60 jet in my 65cc Garelli Polini kit i also recently tried a 62 and a 64 and the chops looked progressively darker but as far as performance the 60 jet has been the best and the chops look the best on that also
I just got my Kit from Federico and I can’t say enough about this guy!The shipping company really did a number on the first kit he sent me and he went out of his way and immediately shipped me a new one before he even received insurance reimbursement from them.Anyway it’s too bad I can’t go full throttle for a while, while it breaks in but the difference is already ni
well the container says chimical resistant
has anyone tried using plastic dip for coating the inside of a rusty gas tank after removing the rust? if so whats up?
No I'm not actually welding to the tank. i am extending the exhaust mount and yes it is a MIG setup as well. by the sounds of it it is ok to do as long as i have the ground positioned before any electrical contacts on the bike. and I'm not to worried about splatter as this will just be a few short burst to tac on an extension. Thanks everybody
ok i need to weld a mount for a muffler onto a swing arm, i have a wire feed MIG welderwhich is direct current from the electrode connection to the weld spot. so i am thinking it would be ok with the bikes electronics if i don't remove the swing arm from the framedoes anyone have experience with this and what are the issues with magnetos and electronic welding also another issue is i plan on
Just for the record and if anyone needs to know this they can search the forumsthe correct sprocket ratio for a garelli 2 speed NO1 is 9 tooth front and 50 tooth rear
does anyone know what the stock sprocket front and rear setup is for a 1977 garelli Rally Sport 2 speed?i know it is different than the one speed i just cant seem to get the right combinationThanks
its seat just kicks ass.. Thats all
ok now i feel really stupid but i did not notice this last time i removed the head and I'm sure i looked right at it. I took off the head to ad an extra Gasket and notice that the original head gasket had slipped and was hitting the piston. good thing it did not damage the piston, but after pulling the gasket out it was nice and form fitted to the head, anyway i replaced it but could not tes
good idea ill try that with the gasket
the "tinging" sound is defiantly coming from the piston area and from what i can tell it is near the head, the exhaust is a stock exhaust the cylinder and piston is a 60 cc polini the carb is stock except the jet i went from a 52 to a 60 whats strange about this is i originally had this setup on this bike and it ran fine for over a year and a half then it started doing this about a month
well it only happens when the engine is under a load and at speedit will not do it when on the kick stand or simply ideling
ok so i cant figure this one out, my Garelli runs great when i first start it and ride for a little while but after it has been running for about 15 min or so and i go up a big hill or have it wide open for a few min it sounds like the piston starts "tinging" i recently switched to synthetic 2 cycle oil and that helps some.the only thing i can think that is causing this is when it is run
