2. Re: Replacement shocks for Motrons

Ryan Westphal — 3 years ago
Forum: Repair
I just finished replacing my Motron’s shocks with maxi EBRs from treats. The forks seem great compared to motrons janky forks. Sturdy and look good. The threads that come out the headset are longer than stock so you’ll need a spacer either below bottom race or drop the fork tubes and space at top below top fork nut (or have very deep top fork nut). If you drop the tubes you would end up with slightl

3. Re: V-spring circle type brake pads

Ryan Westphal — 3 years ago
Forum: Repair
Thanks for the info guys. I had already done the rear and reused old spring but it was kind of worn out.The taco method sounds great but the circle type really limits any folding where it’s around the post.Sounds like Manhandling is the way to go!I didn’t know if there was a tool that made this a piece of cake. Thanks again guys!

11. 83 Urban Express NU50 piston ring size

Ryan Westphal — 9 years ago
Forum: Repair
I am helping a friend put new rings on his 83. We ordered the stock 40mm x 1.5mm rings and once they arrived realized that his stock jug was previously overbored. We had no idea the previous owner had overbored the jug. The piston measures 45mm. The inside diameter of the old\correct rings measure 42.5 and outside diameter is 45mm. We arent sure whether to order the .25 or .5 oversized rings.

Ryan Westphal — 9 years ago
Forum: Buy + Sell
Thanks for the insight.I believe I found someone who will help me weld a solution. I also heard someone talking about indigan possibly making a part in the past that would give me the additional clearance I'm looking for as well. If anyone has that laying around gathering dust please let me know!

13. WTB Pedal arms extenders or arms with added clearance - Minarelli

Ryan Westphal — 9 years ago
Forum: Buy + Sell
I am looking to install a new pipe (MLM St. Ripper) but I will have pedal arm clearance issues. I am looking to buy either pedal arm extenders or arms that have additional clearance to begin with. If anyone has what I need or information that would help me please let me know! This is for a Minarelli V2 but all pedal arms that fit any Minarelli should work fine. Thanks,Ryan

14. WTB Help mounting exhaust - Louisville KY

Ryan Westphal — 10 years ago
Forum: Buy + Sell
I am in Louisville KY.I have a MLM St Ripper exhaust I want to put on my V2. The exhaust studs (Polini 75cc) are too narrow for the flange the way it is. I need to mod the flange to allow it to not only bolt up but still allow pedal\variator clearance which will be a trick. By looking at the flange its going to be difficult to narrow the holes and allow both a nut and washer to bolt tightly an

16. Re: How much scrilla do you have into your ped?

Ryan Westphal — 10 years ago
Forum: General Discussion
I am one of the guys who purchases new parts from treats/1977 and I have spent close to 1000 in parts alone on my Motron over the last few months. That doesnt include what the ped itself cost. If I was patient and tracked down used parts.. to confirm Chubbs statement.. it would have been considerably less.Ive met people who have built amazing mopeds for a matter of a few hundred bucks. Im appar

Took a little video a few minutes ago. Just showing it running for those interested. I'm running a bit lean at the moment so I didnt do anything too interesting.. lol.All the same, soon enough I'll post better vids and of this bad boy going.. Its pretty quick I think. Doubt the top speed will blow anyones mind but its low end is quite impressive. If I can prove capable of ordering the

Ive ran across that schematic which is a big help in a lot of ways but I want to know where to order the parts based on the parts #'s listed ;)Isnt the email to Angelo? Seems like it was as he is the guy who sold me the leo vinci thats currently on there. It would be GREAT

Forum: General Discussion
Thanks dude! It's been a lot of work to this point and even more in the future to get it where it needs to be. Its kind of scary because it is so rare. I'm sketchy when doing anything to it because Im well aware how difficult\near impossible V2 parts are to find. I've had my fingers crossed the entire time. Its odd you mention dom. I actually just fired up the forum to track him

I definitely will post all results on here. Also keep an eye open for questions I post in other forums as I am always looking for advice and help as I have not found a manual. It seems like one had to exist at some point but as far as locating it I have been unable in my attempts. If I were to guess italy would be a good place to start looking. Im about positive none have been uploaded digital

That just may work, friend. Dont know why I didnt think of that! Ill let you know what I find! There will definitely be a video. As soon as I get it dialed in Ill shoot a cpl video's to show what this V2s all about.Jeremy Shay (Scary Bandit) is the only person I've met in town with a built V1 and from what I understand his ped is beast mode. Im excited to compare the differences in th

Will do. It may happen one day. I have gone to great lengths to ONLY modify the kit, exhaust, etc and leave the V2 itself completely untouched. The engine appears to be in exceptional condition in every way. As for now I'm going to continue to take it slow and do it right as to not damage such a rare find. Im very excited to have this as a project bike and once I'm done I maaaay dec

Thats it bro and thanks! Been slooooowly getting work done to it.I was super lucky in tracking down a NOS long seat (Thanks a lot peeps at 77mopeds for going above and beyond).I also forgot to mention that it has a 75cc high compression garelli head on it though that was probably obvious it isnt stock.. lol.As far as the performance related questions I'll have to get back to you on that as I

25. 78 Motron V2 Initial Build

Ryan Westphal — 10 years ago
Forum: General Discussion
I scored a 78 Motron a few months back with a V2. It took a long time to get the parts for a build as it only went about 25 to begin with. I figured Id share the progress with you up to this point.75cc Polini21mm Dellorto (still tuning.. waiting on more jets, etc)21mm MLM intakeLeo Vinci Exhaust (I do have a MLM St Ripper but havent gotten around to modifying the flange and making a bracket yet)

26. WTB Jet 100 +/-in Louisville area

Ryan Westphal — 10 years ago
Forum: Buy + Sell
If anyone in the Louisville KY area has a jet around the 100 range please contact me as I would like to purchase it. I just finished a build on a Motron Minarelli V2 and the 90 jet in the 21mm dellorto is too lean. Im guessing starting around 100 would be a safe bet.I am willing to pay good money for the jet and also willing to purchase and ship a replacement jet to you. I am just impatient!Tha

27. Re: Minarelli V2 project

Ryan Westphal — 10 years ago
Forum: Performance
So basically what you are saying is the 21mm is a bit too much and the St. Ripper is too much top end for what I should be looking to do, eh?At the time of ordering the 19mm intake was out of stock. Only reason I ended up with the St. Ripper is because it became available with less than 5 in stock so I jumped on the opportunity. I plan to run the Leo Vinci initially and at some point test out th

You may very well be right. I plan to tear it down at some point in the future, maybe winter. I'm also going to see how it runs after the initial build before I decide whether I even need to mess with such things.Anyone know about the sprockets and whether they are interchangeable with the v1\v1L's?

I can see it both ways. I'm down either way. I suppose as long as I'm running proper fuel/air it should be fine either way.

A good idea, actually.. I didnt even consider that.. Whats a good estimate on how much I should upjet for that? Id hate to spend too much time\money buying jets I will probably never use again..
