For those who complain about $200 for the TZ fairing, you might try fabricating one before you say how much of a rip off you think it is. Granted, Airtech may not be the highest quality glass out there, but they have 1000s of molds, and it takes a lot of work to make them. Even if I 'splashed' one of their parts to make a mold, I'd still want what they get for the finished product.
What's not practical about a 50mpg VW pick up? Both are from getting from point A to point B. Might as well save money in the process.
+1 for larger pix. Good coverage on the blog. Keep it up!
Wish they were around when I was young.
30 years & never a failure!
I have a gently used foot speed control if you're interested. $20 + shipping. Will fit into a postal 'one rate box'.
At least you could have put a link?
Match the side that needs it. Enjoy the results.
And on top of all of that, we still don't have a definitive rear spring that works with these mods. These ARE real engineering problems.
That sounds like a blast! And only $25& change for 100 lbs. Be nice to hook up with a bunch of peeps & do a week long Moped camping trip on Catalina.
I'm glad PaulRyanJacob got on the list. I've liked his builds, as well as many others in the last few years. Each has their own 'twists' on design that make them special. I've also made many positive comments for several of the other builders on this thread. I'm not going to 'toot' my own horn yet, but I will say, when I finally get some of my builds done, I
Looks good on the Free Spirit, by the way.
Treats sells many thicknesses of reed material. Experiment & let us know your results.
Wayne, can you re-post them?
I remember the hippest bags I ever saw, were made from used sail boat sails. Think they were somewhere up in the Great Lakes area. Super durable & really cool colors & designs. They were too spendy for me, but they always stuck in my mind.
Looks like several peeps realize & understand the importance of a good & tunable suspension. It's unfortunate that the suspensions we seek have to be found on other 2 wheeled vehicles & adapted to ours. The top of the line mountain bike forks offer what we're looking for but at a price that's only for those who have that kind of money laying around. They are strong &
That pipe looks like it's from a YZ80. Am I close?
Jeremy's pic looks just like all the ones that come from a bead blasting cab. NEW!
All of us old timers, that started riding mopeds years & years ago, knew in our hearts that it is the wave of the future.
I too, have no complaints with the Bings.
Second Maitland. Timing lights rock.
I just took off the oil injection from my new Tomos ST (41 miles) & I can use the same premix in all the different models of mopeds knowing they'll be just fine. To me it's not a hassle. I use full synth 50 to 1. Less oil is coming out the pipe, where it was dripping a lot before. Even though it's a few more pounds, I keep the tank on the full side to prevent water condensation
Glad to see this thread back. They really do work.
Clock says it's almost 420
If you can afford urethane auto paint with a clear coat, it will shed almost any chemical that gets on it. Mark all the parts that you take off while dis-assembling. Take pictures of what the parts look like while together so you don't get into an assembly snag. Lay the frame on it's side, on an old blanket, to put the motor back into the frame to lessen the chances of getting scratched,
Didn't say favor. I said barter. Nuf said.
